Default 91 ZR1 at a dealer

I saw this Z at a dealer, and I'm curious to what you guys think the value of it would be. What should I look for, etc. Thanks!

I have a '85 C4, but I've never owned an LT5.

They're closed today... so I'll find out tomorrow.

Jobbers? Is that the holes next to the seat controls? What should be there?

Does anybody have a part of the seat controls with the jobbers?

Also, I'll be taking a look at it tomorrow. I did notice that the carfax said a vehicle hit to the rear/side. So I expect that to be a new bumper and door. But I'll look for shoddy fiberglass work.

Hopefully it runs well and is in decent shape. Any specific ZR1 only things to look for?

Also has 93 rims(rare) which is a plus, 91,92 wheels are much easier to find.

Makes one wonder why? Originals damaged and replaced with '93? Or maybe original owner put after markets on and sold the originals?
And what's with the mudflaps?

I'm going to guess that the value is about half of what the dealer is asking.

The car has 60k miles, has a side swipe collision reported on Carfax, hasn't had an individual owner in at least 3, maybe 4, years and has been owned by this dealer for almost a year. If it were a bargain, it would have sold long ago.

I wouldn't waste my time messing with this one. As the others have said there are many nice, well cared for ZR-1s for sale.

Good luck with your quest.

I don't think those are 93 wheels...93 wheels are chrome.....those look machined/polished/cleared, which could be stock wheels stripped and polished. They look similar to what you'd find on a 94-96. Of course, there were no machined type on the ZR-1s because they went to the A-molds.

The front bumper is a repaint and/or replace, I'd guess because, in '91, the little section between the fog and corner lights should be black.

Another few things....60k on a ZR-1 isn't considered low mileage. It was never a normal car and we considered collectible out of the gate, so it's not uncommon to find ones with under 20k miles.

Depending on what the dealer's asking, whether everything works, and whether or not you care that it's been hit, it may be a decent deal for a driver. I'm sure the guys at Vette2Vette can hook you up with the little inserts for the seat controls.

But, if it were me, I wouldn't even consider one that's been hit unless I was going to use it as a driver or race car and it was super cheap. As the guys above said, there's just a lot of really nice, well cared for ones out there without negative histories.

Chris
No C4 had chrome wheels from the factory.

93-96 wheels are machined on the base car,93 ZR-1 wheels are the same but with the 11 inch wheel in the rear.A-Molds were on the 94-95 ZR-1s.

I stand corrected......I was just looking at a set of '93 ZR-1 wheels in Pate a few months ago that were chromed. Even the '93 Ruby on VetteFacts has chromed wheels. I thought that it was a single year with chrome. My old '88 had factory wheels and they were chromed. I always assumed that they were factory.
