Default 95 Yellow #447 on Flea-bay

What does everyone think of this car and what they will get for it? Collector miles, only 1 top. Looks nice

Chevrolet Corvette ZR 1 Hatchback 2 Door | eBay
Kevin,

They were asking 90k for it several months back and it ran two-three times no sold.

Realistic money for today's collector market is 50k period.

Wow, last ZR-1 sold to the public
I'm sure it'll go for the $50k asking price

The 50 is the current bid, which has not met the reserve.
They say it sold at Mecum for 85
My guess is they are looking for that or more.
Is it worth it?
It was to the last guy who paid 85 for it, but can lightning strike twice?
Who knows.
It is special!

Wow, 85K is some serious money but I understand its historical significance. That car would definitely have to be stored correctly to keep its value as a regular joe could not afford to pay that much to keep and not drive.
I wrote them and asked about their reserve but no answer yet. Good luck to them..I would think a sale would bring up other ZR1s?

Anything over $50k is too much unless you don't mind losing money.

Not sure but someone is losing their ice cream money.....big time. Even if it's the last Z sold to the public (so what?), the market for an $85k C4 ZR-1 is incredibly narrow.

Roger sold a 95 yellow car at Kissimmee 2014 with 275 miles for $56k.

Remember though lots of promotion via Mecum prior to the auction. Not to mention lots of C4 publicity due to the Richard Berry collection auctioning.

There was a 5k mile yellow 1990 that sold for 25k one day prior.

Never know when where and who

I received an answer back today and was told the reserve was 59K. I don't think that's too harsh considering it is the penultimate 95 ZR1 with less than 600 miles in a great color. I would think a big time Corvette collector would love to have this in his collection,no?
Does anyone think the first series of ZR1s will ever get their due?

As a side note the last owner of my car paid almost 59K for it in 2009 bought from Rogers Corvettes in FL.

Kevin

Being a 1 year only body style, yes they will see a drastic improvement in value as time goes on.

Think about the split window cars. Now the highest price mass produced coupe in corvette history.

The '90 had an old style front end, with the "new" style ZR-1 rear, and it had the black rub strips. It was only that way in '90. That is why even though the 90 sold more units, you don't seem to see as many of them on the road, because there were 5 years (91-95) of cars sold that look identical from a body standpoint.......the '90 is my favorite bodystyle. I just might have to get my old '90 back some day.

1990-1995 ZR-1s are the second ZR-1 series, not the first. The first were the cars from 70-72 based on the LT-1 of that generation.

The 95 has differently styled quarter panels than either the 90 or the 91-94 cars.

Well said Jim, and to add the picture of Jim's old car is what 1 of 20 or so in Quasar Blue?

close see the tag....I'm keepin it close.... the guy that bought it lives around the corner...this second pic is off of my back deck, and it is in the garage across the lake.

BB62 is correct BTW the first ZR-1s were C3s, but they have already taken off in price, so I just assumed ZR1ous was talking about '90s

Are you talking about that panel on the drivers side where the battery is in back of? I guess if you want to be technical yes but isn't it interchangeable on the 93-95s ?
