There is obviously a market for them, but I'm mostly interested in low mileage/condition over rare color of provenance/history. If you are shooting for $60k then I'm gonna take that same money and buy the 2009 ZR1 that the guy down the street is asking $65k for.

The way I figure is that some people want the older cars for sentimental reasons and others for rarity since no body else has those, but I would rather have the newer and superior car at some point given equal money. For $10k-$20k, I like the ZR-1, but you couldn't convince me to pay more for the ones with the ruby interior-but that is just me.

but my short answer is: Low mileage cars will rule over color combos.

I think anything more than $50k for any low miler is in excess and an unwise purchase, unless you just don't care.

yeah everyone that held onto them instead of driving them. They also probably have way more cars than they can realistically drive. Like my self right now, I need to sell some cars. Others are being left to the garage sitting and not being driven as much as I like.

besides I'm in the north now so its a limited driving window.
Lots of low mile cars come out of the north because they hibernate so much!

The answer is not simple honestly.

I've watched cars go up and down just like the stock market. One day people are investing in modified cars the next day it's original cars.

Right now in the corvette world and it's been this way for the last five years. People who are purchasing from an investment standpoint are buying original cars....they command the most money. Mileage is not really a factor.

Rare colors will be a determining factor at some point, possibly mute. But one thing's for sure. low mileage survivor type cars seem to always command premium bucks.

I find it hard to imagine someone buying a car simply for it being a rare color. I know there are some well-liked rare colors like Admiral Blue, but overall I bet people are buying cars with colors they like. When I made the decision to buy a ZR-1, I knew there really wasn't any options other than the color because virtually all ZR-1's had the same options.
I love Black Corvettes so I searched and found my Black Beauty
