Default 92 ZR1 Missing Vaccum Hose?

I was looking around under the plenum of my 92 when I noticed on open hose line connection. It appears to be associated with the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid. The picture is taken from the driver side looking down through intake just behind the crank case vent hose and in front of the coil packs.

Not sure pictures are still dark.

Someone will chime in, as I don't recall what this may be.

Picture was taken with a bore scope. It is the only fitting like that under the plenum so I am hoping someone will identify it. The car runs fine and just passes emissions.

There should be a 2nd hard plastic vacuum hose sticking out of that. The empty hole looks to be toward the front and it would normally be the curly-q hard line that routes to the front of the plenum to a nipple near the throttle body. Either you have a big fat vacuum leak and the car doesn't idle below 1200 rpm, or it was removed and capped off at some point in the past. I think that one is susceptible to popping off if there is an intake backfire.

Isn't that the line that connects to a rubber line toward the front?

The photo below is from my 95, it appears to show that is the line that goes to the front plenum connection, which means the line is there somewhere, but my vacuum seems fine......odd.

I wish I could be sure... Im about to put my vaccum lines all back together and I feel like Just looking at these photos :/ I sort of pulled it all off and have not much of a clue how it goes back together or what doesnt go back due to the secondaries being removed.

ANyhow.. Based on a one of MANy photos ive been collecting to sort the mess out.. the one line that circles goes to the plenum at the front. That would be the evap purging to the plenum. the other hose looks like it goes towards the passenger side rear of the plenum where it connects to what I think is the evap hose going to the rear of the car. The evap can be tuned out from pooping the evap CEL so possibly the line may be capped behind the rear wheel area or removed.

I probably just helped myself here But this looks like the hose. I justran out and looked myself and snapped a few quick ones.

Holding it in place where I think it goes which would be the plug in the evap solenoid.

Just realized that the position of the evap stuff changed through the years. I think early cars had it up in the front drivers side below the headlight somewhere. Hopefully someone can fill in the details. My photos are from my 94 where the charcoal cannister etc are all behind the rear wheel.

I think what I need is a diagram for a 92 car to be sure the lines are correctly connected. I know the starter was replaces on the car at some point so the plenum has been removed. I guess I will need to track down a manual on eBay. Was hoping someone on this forum would know.

Your 92 should be like pictured, the 90 would be different, 91 92 should be the same, 93 up has the egr

The missing line should attach to the right of this photo. Would be to the front of car

I believe the hose on the left may be correct, but the outlined hose on the right is a small diameter tube that connects elsewhere. The tube that goes into the right hand port I believe attaches the the underside of the plenum, the curved nipple shown in the post of the underside of the 92 plenum. There are two tubes that curl, one small diameter tube and the larger tube shown the pic that has the black tape on the end, it also would agree with what WeGone posted. It must have blown off and I just can't locate it with my scope.

I located the missing vacuum line. I poked around with a wire and located it sitting right behind the fitting. It can actually be seen in the pictures. I thought that line was attached to something but it was just hanging there. I got some small diameter plastic tubing and am going to use some light gauge picture frame wire to form a noose to grab the hose and push it back into the rubber fitting. Should work. Dont know how long it will last. The bore scope is awesome. Will post more pics later.

I roughed up my tube with sand paper sideways so it would resisted popping out again. It has been fine for almost 4 years now.

Located the missing tube over port and pushed in as far as I could with my little "loop" tool I made with some tubing and light gauge stranded wire. I then applied some supper glue around the perimeter to help hold it in place.

OK.... next!

Funny....I didn't get even one response on the ZR1 Registry forum....perhaps that forum is better suited for questions regarding what the best wax to use or how do I jack up the car?.....
