It is the center stud, separate from the flange bolts. It is between the 3-5 and the 2-4 exhaust tubes, if memory serves, and NOT the flanges themselves.

I used some RED RTV on the threads. Hasn't leaked a drop in 5 years now...

Thanks Paul. Is the leak-leaks limited to these areas alone or is it throughout all of the header studs?

That stud that Paul refers to appears the ONLY stud (one each side) that is threaded into the Oil Return Passage Way.
That would be zero pressure oil flowing from top of heads down to oil pan.

crazy long time ago but would anyone have the dimensions of the header stud? Thread pitch? I’m putting together my 91 and am missing these.

M8-1.25 for thread and what you buy and use is very dependent upon the flange thickness. Very early studs in the OE were nearly 40mm long with about a 5mm shoulder in the center,

***** Well it appears that the stud in question might actually be 3/8-16 (see post #11) BUT the balance of the hardware converter to cylinder head is M8-1.25 x whatever length required.

Did you just double nut it to get them out?

The studs I have, all came from 375Hp engines (90~92). The threads are 3/8-16.

Sometimes, but most come out with the locking nut.
