Default Whats the exterior difference of c4 1996 and c4 zr1 ?

I looked both pictures of cars but zr1 looks like too sportive.Maybe this is psychological because of zr1's engine. There will be any exterior difference for c4 and c4 zr1 apart from suspension and wheel size?.

I mean body shape sorry for bad english,

thanks

The ZR1 is about 3 inches wider than a standard C4 across the rear of the car. The rear bumper fascia does not have a center mounted rear brake light, it is in a pod on the roof of the car above the glass hatchback.
The rear bumper license plate recess is larger than a standard C4 with two dark plastic strips on either side of the license plate.

The body begins getting wider at the doors, and continues to the rear of the car. The rear is 3" wider than a standard c4.

To further clarify... ZR-1 doors and regular bodied C4 doors will not interchange. They start out at the leading edge in the same place but when they get to the rear quarter their is going to be a mismatch of at least an inch or more.

This is what's so cool about the ZR-1. Looks about like any other C4, until the LT5 comes alive and surprises the Hell out of other drivers

It does indeed come alive--I am regularly astonishing the non-initiated with their first ride in my car. Of course an extra 100 hp helps a bit too --Bob

I know the rear is 3" wider but it looks so much wider than that!

The wider rear body panels are necessary to accommodate a wider rear wheel, with a deeper offset.

Though interestingly, I had ZR-1 5 spokes on my 84 w 11" tires. The 84 had the same 36mm rear offset.

I don't think so at all. Maybe it's because I have a ZR-1, but the regular C4s have a sort of squeezed look that comes across very well in We Gone's photo. It almost seems like there is something "wrong" with the regular C4 when the ZR1 is parked next to it. Just my opinion.

Yes, when they are parked together the differences do show. But to those that don't know about the ZR-1 they have no idea they are looking at one, unless they see the emblem.

Spoken like a true long time ZR-1 owner. It's because we've spent so much time with the ZR-1 that the regular C4 looks pinched.

But, when I got out of my White 89', and into my White 91' ZR-1, I always felt like that old Al Pacino line from "Heat",.... "She gotta GREAT A$$ !!".

I actually measured my C4 against the C6 parked next to it and fender flare to fender flare, the C4-ZR-1 is wider. Perhaps as wide as a C6-Z06/GS/ZR1 widebody.

I agree that after you get used to opening the garage everyday and seeing that wide rear fascia that regular C4's need a chesseburger and fries 'cause they too skinny.

The most significant difference between the exterior of the ZR-1 and the regular C-4, is that while racing against one, you will see the ZR-1's posterior far more quickly and then it vanishes far more rapidly then the regular C-4.
That is about it.
