World Record Run tribute
Tommy Morrison’s racing feats on behalf of the Corvette cause are the stuff of legend. Foremost would be the FIA World Record Run, Fort Stockton TX, March 1 and 2, 1990, which saw a ZR-1 average more than 175 mph in quest of a batch of world records, including a 24-hour open class mark that had stood for 50 years.
Tommy was behind the wheel when that record fell, but he was more than just one of the drivers. He managed the months of pre-run testing. He found the money to pay the bills. And, along with Corvette engineer John Heinricy, he directed the assault.
As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the WRR, Tommy is recuperating from a stroke he suffered over Christmas. He could use your best wishes. Send him a note at Pruitt Health, 12825 White Bluff Rd., Savannah GA 31419. Or email indianavette@aol.com., and I’ll forward.

I pray his recovery is complete ... a true legend - met him 5 years ago at JVD's BBQ in Bowling Green. The registry could not get him for the 25th record run gathering at the NCM and now we know why.

Truly unfortunate that Tommy can't be at the 25th in May. He is certainly one of the heroes of the KOTH legacy. However, we did get good news that Heinricy will be attending. Really looking forward to meeting him.
