Steel Blue 1990 " Roxy's rebirth "
Just a little sharing after a lot of discussion about this car last year.
I bought Roxy 11-4-14 from Byron (back4more1984) "great guy ",
Spent the whole winter cleaning, cleaning, cleaning and oh ! did I mention cleaning ?. Anyway, with a surprisingly small amount of $ and a god awful amount of hours and elbow grease. Here are the results.
By the way, Thanks to all who contributed advise/technics and personal experiences on processes used to revive her, she's not finished yet but
I've got a pretty good start on her.

Again, a fantastic job as mentioned on the other forum.....I may have to wait for retirement to at least try to accomplish what you have, your Z is extremely clean to say the least.....a pleasure to view....

Thanks for all the kind words guys ! Its kind of funny, the wife came out to the shop this evening to check on me. She has not seen the car since I brought it home last Nov. Now she is not a car person but, she walks around the car for awhile and then says, It looks like you had it painted. Thats priceless cause not counting paying myself anything I have about $125 of product in it.
The Amoulds, F1s and brake work were not quite as good a bargain but if you look at the difference between a decent respray and $125 they were all free and then some.
Hey Tom, you don't need to wait for retirement. You just need a wife who will share you a little with your other girlfriend. I'm a very lucky guy in that department.

Should have explained myself more in that my 82 "dd" is down due to TA replacement in the garage, the Z is having a PW problem with the DS window in the down position, and the 74 out at my buddies garage still needs to be put back together.....
And since I drive a ton of miles on the road with my job 5 days a week, when I get home, even though I would like to work on them, I eat, read and go to sleep so I can get up and do it all over again....
So when retirement comes in the near future, I won't have to spread myself so thin trying to get everything accomplished.
There a lot of nice Z's on both sites, and yours is one of the best I have seen. Repeating myself with other words, the finished product of the detail you have done is just amazing, a great job.
Yours and other Z's that are as clean and spotless just gives me more incentive to duplicate whenever I can find the time.....

Tom, I'm with you, not near enough hours in a day. I too work alot but I am at least home every evening so that certainly helps. The multiple car thing also makes it hard to focus on any or all of them. I am going to put my 94 base coupe up for sale soon for that very reason, even though I love the car and the wifey says its fine if I keep it. Just seems like the right thing to do so maybe someone will take care of it like I will Roxy. Thanks for your comments.

with not enough hours in the day. In fact took the next two days off, so gives me the next 3 1/2 days off to get the 82 back together and the Z fixed with the PW problem I am having.
Guess I keep thinking about when I retire and will be able to have more time to take care of the Vettes.
Don't know if I would sell the 94 coupe, you may regret it once it is gone.... There may be days when you won't take the Z out but can jump into the 94 instead...Hmmm, the problems we have....when you get time post more pics of your detailing work on the Z, great inspiration for us all....... Tom

You did exactly what was needed to drastically improve that particular car.
It was easy to see that TLC and time was all that it really needed.
Your efforts translated into increased value without a doubt.
Well done!!!
Glad you had the vision and pulled the trigger on an excellent bargain.
You should be very happy with your results.
Enjoy the car!

I noticed that your front wheel-house seal plug on the drivers side, (nearer the battery) is about to fall out.
Put some glue on it and simply push it back in.
They can be difficult to find.

Thanks Marty, I notice the plugs too need to get on the glue, you were one of the few people that defended Roxy's honor and I appreciate that. I do have 2 places I tried to touch up rock chips that I'm not happy with but for 25 yr. old paint she looks pretty sweet.
All fluids have been changed, Brake calipers rebuilt & powder coated, new rotors & SS lines, of course upgraded to the Amolds & F1s thanks to Dan M. in NM. Need to doll up the interior a little but its already in pretty good shape.
Tom, as requested a little more I candy !
Clean aluminum is a good thing
Only new parts you see is the rotor & SS line
Same caliper, before the work
Compounded, sealed and waxed twice
Pre Amolds & F1's

Thanks Dan, It was a pleasant experience dealing with you & you were right the tires and rims really make the paint pop. I have quite a bit more work/ideas to do to her which will all come over time but for this summer we are just going to do a little cruising and have fun. BY the way your 03 anniversary coupe is sweet.
