Default EZ Pass and ZRI Windshield

Does anyone know if the "stick on" type of EZ Pass will work through the metal coating in the windshield?

Years ago in my old 92 Z used as a daily car, it did not.
I went with a license mount version, but mounted it on Velcro under the hood and it worked fine.

I doubt that any of the transponders will work with our windshield. I typically row down the window and hold the Fastpass out the window.

What about mounting it on or close to the Lexan top so that it can be read from any overhead scanner?

I have a Valentine 1 that sits in the cutout and I just put the I-Pass (our version of EZ Pass) in front of it and push the radar detector tight against it. Works fine. You can just see the detector and the I-Pass in this picture.--Bob

The newer E-Z pass is smaller and is mounted right side of mirror. Not a problem for me.

I was thinking of sticking to a piece of plexiglass and suction cupping it in the cut out, then I pull it out when I want to. I could probably mount it inside a fender as well. On my bike its mounted in the the fairing.

You will be adding another layer for the transmitter to have to transmit through with the plexiglass option. Give it a whril as its easy enough to test and let us know if that works. If it does it might be an option others may want to use
