Default For sale: Rare Dark Purple Metallic '95 ZR-1

This ain't no driver. Not a waxer either.

Just a good looking, nice driving, great running, one-owner '95 with a bit of a story behind it. So here goes....

For Sale: 1995 ZR-1. The 140-th of 448 built in the final year of production. Painted Dark Purple Metallic. Only 25 ZR-1s, out of the 6925 sold in six-years of production were painted "DPM" making it the rarest of all ZR-1 colors. Black interior. One top.

Under the hood is a modified, 500-hp, 350-cuin, four-bolt LT5. Build sheet, window sticker, Owner's Manual, Factory Service Manual, service records, oil analysis records and numerous other documents included. Never wrecked. No CarFax. Passed the California Smog Check.

Price SOLD

Awesome car. If anyone is on the edge of decision, those custom Van's with the matching car colors will seal the deal

sheesh, first Van Dorn, now barney! sheesh what's going on here hib?

I understand keeping the BB from Hell but NOT selling barney.

my old LSV rolled 90k miles over the weekend and I hope to put at least another 90 on her before freshening the LT5 up (maybe more, but I drive it hard)

free bump and good luck with the sale, beautiful Z

now where's my purple beer!

Hib,

Perhaps you know this, but looking at those great pics of the car, your emblems have the silver CORVETTE and ZR-1 tags. My ZR is a BRose 92.
The rear CORVETTE is in silver, but the ZR emblems are in black w red bow tie. Should my emblems match the the silver as they do w your 95?
Love the Euro lamps on that color.

Dom, my Purple 95 has the silver on all emblems, FWIW.

Jeff/Brett,

I agree which is why I was asking Hib. Hadn't seen another purple car w emblems. It's been my suspicion given that the rear CORVETTE on my car is silver but the emblems are black altho in between is painted black rose.
Need to see another black rose car that is original.
However, looking at Kurt White's site, the 73U emblems shown are the same as the ones I have on the car. Don't know if the CORVETTE is correct however.
BTW, fixed the emblem on my hood using a Loctite instant glue. Worked great. Gives you 30-60 sec. before it hardens completely.

I am pretty certain that the rear and hood emblems are in fact correct.
Red bow tie w black lettering. White Racing products shows OEM Black Rose emblems that way.

I saw in So OC, one in this color today, but not close enough to tell if a ZR1.

GLWS Love that color!

a lot of car from a true corvette enthusiast in a very rare and desirable color.

time to bust a muv if you want it!

don't cut the price any more Hib, just keep it!

sell a kidney or pimp out the fam but keep barney!

real shame that the real value of these cars isn't better understood.

for me, the value is keeping mine and putting as many miles on it as I can.

ZR-1 = more smiles to the miles

sorry to see you sell it, wish I had the coin, I'd be on a plane and driving barney back east, but alas vette #4 isn't feasible.

this car is a smokin deal at this price! price out similarly equipped late model ZR-1s and you'll likely agree.

Almost makes me want to trade up from my 91. Wouldn't be my first rodeo with a purple C4 either.

Its common to see 60+ Corvettes grouped together right by the main entrance at the Pomona swap meet with potential buyers checking them out.

Corvettes get the best parking places in an area designated just for Corvettes.

For $25 and an early trip to the Fairplex you can give it a shot. The next one is March 6th. I can assure you some people there will take a good look at Barney and ask questions.

Are they Qualified to buy? Only one way to find out.

I had a ZR-1 for sale there in 03 and it did attract some interested Corvette people... however, the buyer showed up in PA.

Hi Hib. I have been meaning to email you and just don't get it done... I was just going to suggest that you give either Greg Van Deventer or Scott Skinner a call and see if they might be interested.

In August 2011, I drove my '85 down to Oklahoma to the Stillwater Mercruiser Reunion. Anyway, I remember Greg commenting on my car..."I should get a C4 someday". I thought, "Greg, you need to get a ZR-1 someday!"

As they were involved in LT5 and ZR-1 history, here are two suggestions of who not better to have your car (a cool car intertwined with their own history as they each have worked on it).

Good luck with your sale...someone needs to buy this fine car soon! That or else you better get wise to what you are getting rid of and KEEP it Hib!

Ok...
My '95 is now priced at $22,500
Don't be a criminal. Buy my car.

That's a "fire sale" price on that Z. Things are beginning to turn around - has been for a while. But, you know as well as anybody, mod your Corvette to your liking, but do it for your own appreciation. Don't expect any appreciation for them from others when it comes time to sell!

BTW...Does that car have the "500+" package done to it yet??? If so, where/who did the mods, if you don't mind me asking?

Hey Paul--I am sure familiar with the idea of not getting anything for your mods! And as noted in the first post, Barney had the Automasters/JVD Street Skinner 500 HP package done early on. --Bob

I agree with the market being tough, but I would think that you could get well more than $21K at an auction - especially for a 95!
