Have a look at this engine ****...

triple and quad row timing chains, 4v head, aluminum connecting rods, thing of beauty!

Wow, hard to believe they had the technology and know-how back in 1929 to engineer something like that. The timing chains and sprockets look a lot like the LT5 versions, but a lot wider.

I know it! I knew Deusenberg engines of that era had straight 8's w/DOHC....and that by itself is pretty amazing considering the average engine in 1929 was a 4 or 6 cylinder "L head" like this pedestrian lump:




But when I started reading the thread, and saw the pics of a pent roof combustion chamber w/4 valves/cylinder, it blew my mind! FYI they offered the same engine, supercharged making 320hp and a dual carb'ed, supercharged version making 400 hp.

I have no idea. Never heard of that, but someone else may know. Seems like a logical idea....I'd think the specific output would have been among, if not the best of it's time, making it a good candidate for airplane use.

It's cool "tech" for any 'Vette Gen gear head, IMO.

I thought the ZR-1 guys would appreciate it the most, being 4v.
