Default Ran my ZR-1 @ New Jersey Motorsports Park

Posted this on the ZR-1 forum and asked to share here:

All I can say is, enjoy your ZR-1!!!

What a weekend....

Joined an event @ New Jersey Motorsports Park with the Porche Club of America (and many fine exotics were there)

At first I was disappointed that the track event wasn't cancelled because of terrible weather (hurricane joaquin) but I ended learning so much in the rain Saturday!!

Here is a video taken by a new Porsche AWD trying to catch up to me on Saturday!!

This is a video of a friend who is a professional race car driver and instructor driving my car against other race prepped cars.

I have Hawk Ceramic pads installed and they worked flawlessly in the rain. Not only that, minimal dust. Even with heavy use!!!!

Car never ran over 220 degrees. Tires held up great!!! Minimal oil consumption.

Met so many awesome enthusiasts @ the PCA event. Definitely want to return to it next year!!!

Enjoy the videos!

Very cool . What was the drivers impression with the Z after running it? What kind of top speed did you hit on the straights?

I liked the "salute" that you guys got from the Porsche as you went around him at the tail end of the second video!

Ricky,

He loved it!!! Initially we said he would do 3 laps and take a brake, not knowing how he would like it. After 3, he said.... LETS DO MORE!!!! He drove it the day before (Saturday) in the rain and we passed EVERY car, yes every one!

I did about 120mph'ish and he did near 150... It was limited because there was a pond that got in the way!

Had a blast! Your car is set for it!

Michelin Pilot Super Sports (18' fronts / 19' rears)

They performed very well in the rain but in the dry.... OUTSTANDING!!!!!

Tires are about 2 years old and still 80% tread with 1 track event / 12k miles.

I don't think that was a salute...I think it was a "point by". You can't pass, unless the person being passed gives you a "point by", then they should ease off to allow the pass to happen easily and quickly. This lowers the risk of contact/collisions.

Sweet vids and looks like an awesome day. Nice to see a car like that getting used proper!

I think a track day is the pinnacle of sports car ownership. Thanks for sharing, and congrats on going!
