High mileage zr-1
Could anyone give me some insight as to if I should buy a high mileage zr-1?
Here is the skinny:
1990 Black zr-1. Car is aesthetically pleasing (exterior and interior) from the photos. Not really much else on the description. Car has 116000 on her and the price is between 9-10k.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

If your buying it to have fun and just drive it 9-10 is ok but it won't be an investment and will be a hard sell if you need to unload it. But that lt5 100k is nothing

go for it. if the engine has been taken car of you have about another 150-200 k miles to go. not too many folks know where the tootsie roll center is and how many laps it takes to get there
my car at 95k dynos stronger than it did at 40k miles
stock nikasil liners are very durable

At that price at least go look at it. As others have stated it would be a great DD or fun Sunday driver. If I can help ya I'm in the Atlanta area just let me know.

The net also has a great forum look around and you will find lots of great stuff.

Compression test and leak down perhaps? How does the trans and throw out bearing sound?
I also size up the seller... does he take good care of his other vehicles?
Plenty of good info has been offered by the crew here... I predict you will find a good one.
Mine has 140K+ on it and I still thinks its worth 16 to 17K. Runs like a champ and has been refined in ways that improve performance. Its my daily driver and shows no signs of slowing down.
An identical 91 ZR-1 in turquise resides in Orange County CA and belongs to Power Brake Bob. His ZR-1 has 268K on it and is still running nicely... just needs paint!
I just talked to him the other day and he hasn't gotten tired of it yet... and he bought it brand new 25 years ago.
