That's quite an element!
Funny, definitely! A splitter is going to be on the must have list.

Spoke with Marc Haibeck on Friday, and Doug Rippie today about going through the car and pushing the power up around 500HP.

Both super nice guys and a wealth of information. Both were backed up til the fall.

I vote for Cory Henderson or Marc Hailbeck

Well I killed my starter when I power washed the engine a week or so ago. Checked all no crank items, and pretty much was sure it was a dead starter, well suspicions confirmed, just clicks.

Jumped right into plenum removal, it's a tad bit intimidating, now if I can get it back together.....

Went a head and pulled the injectors and cleaned with apcarb cleaner and blew the out. Bought new "O" rings and plenum gaskets from Jerrys Gaskets. The secondary injectors were completely clogged.

NOS starter will be here Wednesday, spent most of the afternoon trying to clean up the valley under the plenum it was scary how filthy it was.

A few pics..

Here's the flat bottom steering wheel I picked up from Jerrys Gaskets, pretty cool!

Got everything back together tonight, fired right up!!!

Still have a vacuum leak, but runs tons better, cleaned all of the injectors actually got to get it out on the highway tonight, runs much better at higher RPM's and getting a few backfires. Hopefully driving it a little will clear it up a little.

I'm a little less intimidated by the LT5 now....just a little

Good job! Now that you have gotten to the bottom once its likely you won't be back anytime soon given the parts you replaced. I hope you opened up the drainage hole a little bit under the starter...

its an easy mod and helps by not plugging up as easily.

I would make sure to replace the injectors or send them out to be professionally cleaned.

When I send the car up to DRM he will replace the injectors when we do the DRM 500 work along with long tube headers and coil overs. Also thinking I'm going to have the cam covers and intake powder coated bright red, I think it will look amazing with the Admiral blue and red grand sport themed interior.

Well looks like the ZR1 will be going to Mac Heibeck at ZR1 Specialist for some much needed upgrades...

- 510 HP package (long tube headers, lightweight flywheel, port heads and plenum, dyno tune

- Omit coolant in plenum

- Refinish cam covers and plenum torch red

- Replace injectors

- New clutch

- Coilovers (trying to decide to repair FX3 and modify for coilovers or just replace FX3 with coilovers)

Should be dropping it off toward the end of October, can't wait to feel to power!!!

I've had a few conversations with Marc and he seems like a great guy, thinking I made the right choice.
