'95 ZR1 - Gonna Need to Bring the Beast Back to Life
Just bought a '95 ZR1, I've wanted one of these since they were new, found this one yesterday right in my home town. It hasn't been started in 5-6 years, the body is really rough it has a tick over 100k miles on it, bought it & a black '93 6 speed coupe (hasn't been started in 5 years) from a 72 year old lady that ended up with it and the '93 from her brother years ago.
This fits the bill perfectly, I bought the one off custom carbon fiber body panels that were once on Kim Bakers Pirate racing ZR1 that's sitting in the corvette museum. The body parts were designed and molded by Jeff Nowicki, when he was racing the car before Pirate racing re-skinned it.
The plan is to get it running & install the carbon panels, with a race car theme but with the creature comforts of the stock Z.
Here are some pics of the car and the body parts...

Yes it is Rob! Thank you for the kind words.
If that's yours in your avatar, in my opinion you have the absolute pinnacle of the C4's, an admiral blue Z, but I kind of have an obsession with blue...

May have to paint it to match its slightly older brother #411.
I just finished changing out the interior to red and wheels, just love the admiral blue, which is what prompted my custom license plate "NOT RED".

Heading home from Ireland in the morning, can't wait to get my hands on the Z, want to hear it run, then the fun begins....
I've wanted one of these cars since they were introduced my senior year in high school. I finally get it and leave the country for 9 days, only had time to get the cars moved to my shop and look for 5-10 min before having to leave.
Can't complain about the trip, went to Charleville, Ireland for a wedding, and man they have fun at an Irish Catholic wedding started around noon we left the party around 1am and I belive it finally shut down around 6 the next morning. They know how to have fun.
This has to be one of the friendliest places on earth, the locals are a blast, hard to understand but genuine.

Thanks! I reached out to Jeff Nowicki, who designed and fabricated the carbon fiber parts, he's looking for some pictures of the car from when he was racing it. I'll have to have someone fabricate the carbon splitter under the nose, and get a little creative on the side skirts and doors so I can keep fully functioning doors and glass.

Finally got to get my hands on the Z yesterday, no fuel pressure, so I pulled the pump and it looks ugly. Haven't tested the pump yet, just went ahead and ordered a complete replacement assembly.
Also pulled the pump from the '93 I bought along with the Z, and replaced with pump from local auto parts store, but it's still not working, but I think it may be the relay.

After getting the wrong fuel pump from eBay, I called Jerrys Gaskets yesterday and had the correct part on my doorstep this morning. I had to run out to the shop at lunch and put it in to see if it would start. It came to life, stumbled a bit at first and backfired a little, then started to settle down. Only ran it for about 10 minutes.
Ran back out this afternoon, inspected everything checked fluids then fired it up again and let it run for about 20-30 minutes settled down a lot, only stumbles on quick acceleration, very smooth when you easy the RPM's up.
Gonna put some injector cleaner in it this weekend and let it run a little more than more. Thankfully no funny noises, or smoke. To the best of my knowledge it hasn't been started in about 8 years.

Pulled some of the body panels out to start to get an idea what it's going to look like. That wing is insane!
