Default upgrades and maintenance!

well...

Finally had my E-brake installed for my ZR-1 with my C6 Z06 brakes and boy am I happy!!! Took the car to Dempsey's (Evolution Motorsports) to have him install the E-brake, install B & B Fusion, fix minor issues with driver mirror / left & right windows and some items on my Chevy 3500.

Anyone who knows Dempsey, knows he is first class and does the job right... He used to do so much FREE help in the community and after retirement, why not do a business around what you like? CORVETTES!!!!!! There were issues with the E-brake (minor defect) and it wasn't noticeable. The job took twice as long as we thought but wouldn't accept anything over what we agreed....

Here are some pictures:

He found small issues with the spare tire delete (fixed free) and re-ran vaccum lines... All done right!!!

Appreciate Demps going above and beyond!!

Hey Dave! How do you like the B&B compared to the Corsa? Pro and con. I have a B&B new in box that I plan to change with my Corsa soon. If I can ever get a break from work I'll get mine aligned and play with the ride height and post some pics of my projects over the last year

David,

I saw your car on the lift and getting some attention when I picked up my white car on Saturday... you car looks absolutely gorgeous! I also had a great experience with Evolution, am happy to see Dempsey get that business off the ground, and thrilled to have a local shop that I can trust the cars to when things are beyond what I can do in my garage.

Motor was "done" about 4 years ago by Pete the Greek in Chicago. Painted by Haibeck at the same time.

David,

I'm very happy with the results! Happy to finally have the headers and new exhaust on, but just as happy to have fresh oil in the transmission now. They really did a great job and paid attention to the aesthetic details.

Why the tire delete and what is in the aluminum box now?
And..........why the elongated sliding bolts each side?
Nice clean installation and I am assuming weight reduction?

The aluminum box is the factory spare tire delete brace. When you ordered spare tire delete in 94-96 on the std coupe/convertible your car came from the factory with that aluminum brace.

I think that was a crash bar GM had to put in if your didn't have a spare tire?

Cliff,

Yes this is a Spare Tire Delete... Only used in Convertibles with run flat tires (I think). Big weight savings and potential bling factor if you see Ricky's ZZZZZZ

Which elongated bolts?

Cheers

On each side of that aluminum box are elongated holes actually slots in which the bolts are inserted. If you loosen those two bolts it appears you can slide the aluminum Tire Delete forward and rearward?

That's a "collision absorption" modification I'd think similar to what's used in the column to allow it to collapse on impact. Did you ever wonder why the "floating slugs" on the column mount!
