The build sheet will show the date that assembly began.

I was told that the date on the build sheet is the date the sheet was created so the actual production date of the car could be a few days or a week later. My '95s build sheet date was Friday 3/31/1995 so I always assumed that my car was built in the first or second week of April. ZR-1 production ceased about the third or possibly fourth week in April and we all (about 300 ZR-1s) went down to Bowling Green to celebrate the production of the last ZR-1 and its trip to its permanent home in the National Corvette Museum on Friday April 28, but the car had actually been produced a few days earlier. --Bob

Since your build sheet is dated 3/31 it might be interesting to check the "Certification Label" on the drivers door and see what it mentions. I would think 4/95 but I've never compared the two dates, if it's 3/95 then the Certification Label is just a recreation from the build sheet.

Car was "built" OR BUILD SHEET initiated and is dated 7/2/91?
I'd think that's quite so (and expected) likely but the BUILD SHEET DATED 3/31 would have been the "interesting" one. If it had a 3/95 then the Certification Label is just run from the initial date of the build sheet. If it had a 4/95 then it could be assumed that the "ACTUAL BUILD" was done in 4/95 (day of month undetermined).
