Default Availability of LT-5 ZR-1 Parts

Has anybody noticed that there are hardly any parts listed on ebay and if they are, they are crazy high prices. Back in 2000-2005, I would buy up parts like mad and we would all compete for them: JeffVette, Goldyclon etc

I know all the other places to find parts but Ebay used to be the best location.

I'm wondering if the parts are not as readily available or people are just holding them because the economy is not great and the parts are not bringing the $ so they are holding onto them.

Thoughts?

Other sources have developed since that time ie Jerry's Gaskets. We still have a good source on the Registry as well. Canvassing other Zregistry members works also. That's what we are there for. ECM and ICM will be most critical. Other stuff has subs.

Havent noticed anything be hard to find, source or replace so far. Except maybe the icm which doesn't seem common. Im kind of hoping mine goes so I can sell my ecm and anything I don't need so I can go standalone !

I have a couple of water hoses on back order at Ecklers.

Apparently the Tee hoses are tough to find?

I have tried to sell a full set of stock 90 cams and an entire 90 top end that I have listed below Jerry's prices (which are reasonable) and no takers, so YES I'm just going to hang on to them. Not giving them away.

The normal cycle. When demand drops past a certain point, prices become nearly irrelevant. So while waiting for that one in a million person who actually needs or wants the part, you can ask whatever you want...your competition has long given up placing useless ads. Of course, the other side is, when people see the high prices, the demand for the cars that need (or may need in the future) those parts, drops. This further reduces the demand for those parts, eventually causing many to be eventually scrapped by people who can't sell them or don't understand what they are.

Ive got several vintage parts sources I always contact when I need something. I just bought a rear wheel liner and it only cost $90 shipped. If I need an LT5 part I give Jerry a call.

One reason why the prices on these cars keep dropping
Got turned off the the hoard/gouge mentality when I had one couple good guys were always available to help out though.

Dialing up Summit and getting what ya need now is a beautiful thing lol.
