Default At last! Finally a ZR-1 Owner! '91 #1630

After a year or 2 of searching for the right car this one seemingly fell right into my lap. This starts back in June, when Stingray Chevy acquired a 91 Z. I went to look at it, c4 zs are few and far between here in Central Florida. They were asking 23 grand which I thought was decent, not great. Fast foward to a few days ago and they still had the car. I shot them an offer of 17,900 for it and to my suprise they straight up accepted the offer. The next day I bought the car. Couldnt be happier! It only has 36k miles and she is a beauty. I am obsessed with zr1s and am so happy to finally own one. It has a zr1 registry sticker which I just signed up for so maybe the previous owner is on here as well?

Congratulations and welcome to the Club
Looking at the stock wheels I'd guess the whole car is stock

Great looking 91! It appears you have Borla exhaust on it.

Wow nice car! I'm really enjoying mine. Everytime I drive it, I get a huge grin for some unexplainable reason. Last time out I even ran into someone that knew what a ZR-1 was!

I too have the Borla exhaust but mine isn't tucked in as well as yours. I may need a trip to a good exhaust shop to fit it up better. I also have the stock wheels. I polished one up this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised. I thought they were in poor shape, but they are pretty decent.

I'm in the middle of repairing droopy door panels, which I hope you never have to do.

Best of luck with your Z.....See if the dealership has service records or maybe the last owners phone number or email address....Fuel injectors are known to go in these years....36,000'miles, they were probably changed out....

Looks like you have at least a cat back exhaust......If you don't have headers I recommend you get them.......The factory manifolds are very restrictive....

Lots of great info on the ZR1 registry.......Got my 91 back in Nov of 2014...

Good luck.....

Yeah, I'm currently trying to fix the amps on the speakers, so I cannot use the radio just yet, but who needs that when you have the LT5 under the hood!

Yeah car is 100% stock, even has the original LT5 plug wires. Looks like it was cared for very well, part of why I bought it. This car looks more like a 10,000 mile car rather than a 35,000 mile car. I do plan on putting headers. I love how the Borla system looks and sounds, even though I know it isnt the best for flow, I plan on keeping that in place. This car is very quick stock and I am perfectly happy with it that way. It is very cool to drive a car that most people have probably have never seen on the road before. I know I have never seen another. People just know it isnt your normal vette, and so do other owners. Very cool feeling. Plus those 315s look menacing out back.

The bane of any C4. I just ordered all four new amps for my Bose Gold after I changed out the CDM.

Better to get ear buds and an IPhone and listen to the engine go!

BTW... I'm considering exhaust upgrades/changes as I just got my 91/1388 about a month ago. I freak with drone and vibration si /i'm wondered how your Borla was treating you?

It has a VERY nice sound in my opinion. Perfect on the highway yet sounds amazing at WOT. Looks very good as well. On my old 89 I had a gutted B&B system. Drone for days. Nice to have a change. I think you'll like the Borla system. Very sporty indeed. I reccomend it.

Perhaps. I always go to the cars and coffee in Orlando. I bet they have never seen a zr-1. Would love to meet up with some other c4 guys!

I know the C5 Z will win, but you and your dad should run them. All in good fun. I ran my dad with me in my 93 C4, and him in his CLS55 AMG. I knew he would win, but it's fun

Congrats. Your 91 Z looks clean. I envy the fact that you can still drive it at this time of year, unlike those of us "up North" in the Frozen tundra.
