Default 1990 ZR-1 opinion please

1990 ZR-1 has 1991-1992 body style. Whats up with this?? Should I be concerned? Looks to be in good shape overall and the price is right.

thanks for any input!

Back in the day, it was very common for owners to convert their corvettes to the newer styles when they came out (they actually sold a kit to remove the split rear window on a 63 to make it look like a 64...sounds really silly now). Some people don't like the black belt line, thinks it looks sooo 80's, not so much now, but back then....Price, a little high for a significantly modified Z, if that's what you are asking. Seems like a nice car.

Many thanks! Price dropped from 17 to 16K which I thought was a steal BUT I think what your saying is that since it is not "original" body style may not be "worth" what a "unmodified" 1990 ZR-1 comparable would be.

I think you are "in Zone".

With so many good condition unmolested ZR1's in the same price range, it would be downright silly to buy a Frankenstein.

Just my $0.02

If originality is not you're thing it looks like a really clean Z price is not bad.

Meh, it's not a car I would buy tbh. It is very hard to color match red, and it is quite obvious that the new bumpers are not matching to the rest of the body. That is something I could not live with, maybe you are different. There also looks to be overspray on the wheels where they tried to paint the calipers. Obviously they failed at that. It does have a B&B exhaust however. I just bought my 91 Z for 17,900$ with 36,000 miles, looks showroom new. Took about a year and a half to find it. If you can talk them down to 15k, then go for it. Otherwise, just wait some more. There are some very nice Zs that pop up every now and again. Good luck!

Really appreciate all the expertise and opinions!!! Yeah makes sense to wait for the right one at the right price. Seems to be a buyers market for the ZR-1 at this time IMO. Have to say I've ALWAYS wanted a ZR-1 despite having had several different C5's and a couple of C6's. thanks to all!!!

If you are going to mod one I think it might be worth it
