Depending on year, mileage, condition, etc.... I definitely say it would be a good deal for you to trade. C5's values are gonna keep going down, and Callaway TT's with Aerobodies have always been up there and are gonna do nothing but keep going up IMO. I don't think I've seen an aerobody go for under $30K. I guess it just all depends on what you're lookin for in a car. If this TT is in any kinda tune, it'll embarrass you pretty easily. Especially on the interstate, like buslengths

Oh, BTW- they did come in autos all years (87-91 I believe).
Beefed up 700R-4's maybe?? The gurus can tell you for sure.
The straight drives were as follows:
4+3 speeds in the 87-88, and the ZF 6 speeds came in the 89-91.

Clemson, thegame:
The auto tranny in the Callaway was a TH400 with a Gear Vendors(or similar) overdrive. They made very few autos in 87(4? others will know specifics). I've often thought of buying a 88 Callaway(one went for 28.5K with 9K miles on it 2 years ago at Bloomington) but I think I'm going to stick to my original plan and go with a 99 or 00 FRC. Then again, the 0% '02 Z06s are pretty tempting...:)

Callaway TT Auto's are tough to come by... Two were direct conversions in 87 and there were about a dozen or so made in 88 and 89 each...
Aerobody + daily driving = nervousness
As far as value, a TT will not drop much lower in price as they are tough to beat but, parts might be an issue at some point and I would simply chose another weapon for daily use in traffic...
Good luck w/ your choice, any other questions just ask :yesnod:
...and as far as the original question, TT Hands DOWN!

Fiberglass front nose would not fair well as a daily driver.
Nor would your head. Mine gets quite big when ever I drive the Aerobody. :D

Hey Sam, not to hijack the post, but I have a few Q's about your TT, or Matt's. What mods have you and Matt done and what kind of #'s are ya'lls cars putting out? Also, do u have many issues outside of the normal wear and tear of a high tq car? I'll be looking for another toy to keep the ZR company fairly soon and would like a little better perspective on these cars. E mail me if you'd rather not put it here. Thanks!

Re: Callaway aerobody tt vs zr1 ?? (8388)
a well tuned TT aerobody should do 190+ which is a bit higher than a similar ZR1 can muster. 180 is good for the early cars, maybe a bit higher for a 95. both are a really good match in the quarter mile with the winner going to the best driver.
I love the ZR1s but the aerobodies work very well and it's hard to argue with the turbo power on top end.
no flames, just my opinion. love em both!!!
