Aaron Scott has delivered DA PAIN
Guys, Aaron has outdone himself on this one. He brought DA PAIN to the Rollers today!!!
The numbers are Great, but the power band on this thing is incredible!
This is a 408 with his stage III cams, big valves, 3” exhaust and x-pipe, and std. Plenum(non siamesed)with the secondaries in place.
First for the peak numbers:
563 rwhp
492 rwtq
But this is not the story. This puppy makes over 450 rwtq from 3900 to 6500, and over 400 lbs. From 3300 to 7400 rpms. This thing Screams. The TQ is just amazing, above 480 from 4600 to 5300. peak is at 5000 rpms. And remember this is a 408 with its 4” stroke, not a 415.
It makes peak power at 6800 rpms and flat lines to red line just dropping 2 hp per 100 rpms… Incredible!!!
Aaron sent me a hole bunch of dyno graphs comparing this set up to others. One I like to mention is W. Hale’s 415. This is the 0-150 mph “ Car and Driver mag” car that Aaron improved on a while back. This car made 570 rwhp, but it is making 20 rwhp less than my car all the way from 3000 rpms to 6500 rpms. At this point is where he starts to gain on power up to his peak of 570 vs. mine at 563. Talk about a killer mid range!!!!!.. These Cams are the Shieeeet!!!!
The car still made 407 rwtq with the power key off. It idles with the secondaries still in place like a stoker with an attitude ofcourse, and it is quiet at cruising speeds. I’m a happy camper!!!!...
I want to thank Greg Vandeventer for helping me out when I started this project as a 368 with some outstanding head work, which with the addition of big valves, some more porting and Aarons incredible effort on the ijector housings and plenum has allowed this motor to scream like it does. Special thanks to my HERO Aaron Scott!!.. he is DA MAN!!!!!
p.s Mike Perlis, I got a baby blue bottle with your name all over it

Congrats on your beast there Julio.
Those stage 3 cams are amazing. Aaron really did his homework on those and puts anything made by LPE to shame.

......Yo Bro!!.......
I was down at SGC last nite with this dyno madness, xsmph's car sounds awesome! The stage 3 cams make a HUGE difference, laid over 5 or 6 other dyno graphs......these cams are clearly the BOMB!!
A personal note to xsmph.......
I have NO reason to be nice too you anymore, if you must "bring da pain'' with that little blue bottle, the one with MY name on it, all I can say is..........
YOU'LL NEED IT......you know what I'll be bringing, it's right there in front of you!!
Congrads to Julio and SGC......this is awesome!!

Congrats, you know another license plate could be DA FORCE.
Be careful and stay as safe as you can. I want to hear about these stories for years to come.
What a great Christmas present to yourself! :steering:

Re: Aaron Scott has delivered DA PAIN (ASASN)
Thanks for all the comments guys. This car took a long time to get to where it is now. Thanks to my friend G. Bonafede for pointing me in the right direction.
I'm really happy for myself and Aaron. He really put an incredible effort on this set up to make it what it is, and I can't thank him enough.
We went with the 408 for a better rod/angle ratio (4" stroke vs. 4.125" on the 415). I just think is a better combination for the Nitrous, and the motor revs happier, yet does not give much hp/tq to the badest of the 415's...
Mike, I got your dyno graph with your signature on it... I'm about to sing off the parental divorce papers.. you are a BAD DADDY!!!
Dont forget about those x-tra rpms..... time to raise the rev. limit to .....Ummmm... about 1000 more rpms!!
;)

Re: Aaron Scott has delivered DA PAIN
Impressive PAIN numbers, indeed. Can you post some dyno graphs? Graphs that show the effect of just the cam changes would be very useful.

Re: Aaron Scott has delivered DA PAIN (A26B)
I'll be at BG in May for sure.
There isnt really a comparison from before and after dynos with cams.
This motor went from a 350 to a 368 with stock cams to what it is now.
But stay put. Kurt will be dyno tuning this afternoon his 415 with Satge III cams, and his number will be in the 580 rwhp and 505 rwtq... (my prediction)
He'll be albe to do a side by side comparison with these cams and the ones he had before on his 415.
The track will tell the tale, but I'm confident with decent weather I can crak a 132-133 mph pass in the 1/4.
you know mile-n-hour is what Am all about...
