1991 Steel Blue Metallic Vette
In my ever long pursuit of a 94-96 red convert I have come across a very cool color on a 91 Vette. There are at this time no 6 speeds for sale in this year and color and was wondering if anyone had any pics of this beautiful colored corvette. Also the converts that I have seen are all with a black top, was a tan top an option for this color?
thanks, SVX

Color is a personnel choice but like you the Steel Blue that was available in 90-91 is my co-favorite along with Pologreen,my present toy is a 96 roadster,Pologreen/Saddle top and interior,LT1 engine, auto trans, sport seats,31K original miles,it is just a very ,very nice roadster, the one and only C4 that i would consider giving it up for would be a 91 Steel Blue roadster, with the Blue softtop and Steel Blue interior in the same condition that my 96 is in,its a very hard car to find,as for your questions,as far as i know you could order any softtop color and i have on a few occasions seen either a 90 or 91 on Ebay with a 6sp,according to the Corvette Black Book there were only a total of 1648 Corvettes painted Steel Blue in 90-91 so it is just a very hard car to find in any condition coupe or roadster but they are out there,i have stored in my computer a 91 coupe with very low miles,if no one can send you pictures of a roadster and you would like to see the coupe i may be able to send them to you,i would need your email address, come on you lucky Steel Blue owners lets see some pictures, and if you own a 91 with a Blue top and interior i really want to see it. Sorry I do not have Vert but my coupe is Steel Blue and it is the only Vette I wanted. I love the color. Maybe you should post in the General section to get more readers to review your request.

beautiful cars, thanks for the pics. I actually thought I was in the general section I'll post it there. Sure would be neat with a blue or tan soft top.
Thanks again, SVX

You will be very hard pressed to find a vert 6spd. I've found 1 in 1.5 years of looking nearly every day. I have seen the verts in a dark blue top. It does look sharp. I think I may have also seen one in a white top. Not sure what to think of it. If you come across a vert in a 6spd, and dont buy it, PLEASE tell me.

In 1991 there were only 835 Steel Blue Metalics sold, so you could estimate around 300 were convertibles, and maybe 125 of those were 6 speeds. According to the Corvette Black Book Steel Blue Metalic was only available with a Black, Blue or White top and a Blue or Black interior. I'm sure, as someone else here hinted at, one could order any color top or interior if one had the right connections, but them you would be talking about a very rare car.

Since we have an active post regarding this great Steel Blue color does anyone own a 91 roadster with the Blue softtop that they could post pictures of and is there a very nice one out there for sale.
