What's it really worth? Honestly... 87 NB Coupe 197K
The good news:
1987 Nassau Blue coupe.
Lingenfelter 74211 cam - specs .503/.525 211/219 @ .050"
AFR 190 heads
Accell intake manifold and large tube runners
hand ported plenum
Hooker headers
adjustable fuel pressure regulator
Formato custom chip (smoothed rough idle no effect on average ET)
Precision Industries 2600 rpm Vigalante 9.5" torque converter
custom cat back exhaust - bigger tubes
(engine rebuilt about 160k)
fairly new Goodyear Eagles on stock 87 rims.
Hasn't been raced in several years but turned consistent high 12's. Engine, tranny, suspension has been taken care off all along - newer rear bearings for example. Currently nothing is wrong with car mechanically and it drives great - gets driven to work nearly every day this time of year in the NW. Oh, the A/C compressor works but it is due for replacement - just doesn't get used much in the NW.
The bad news:
197xxxx miles... heck lets call a spade a spade, this is a 200k mileage car!
Interior looks like its a 200K car - I've thought about redoing it but I think the mileage alone will dictate what it's worth - comments?
Radio pops low volume then high volume, then low... you get it.
small crack in the windshield
Mostly it's the mileage and the interior that are the bad news.
Your comments and insights are very much appreciated.

Got any pictures how bad the interior and exterior are, and if the AC and windshielf needs to be replaced. Maybe worth 5K or less If the paint is not too too bad... What you have to realize is, Paintjob could go from 1500 to 3k for some thing nice, not even show quality, interior can go fro ma few hundred to over $1200 if all of it has to be redone. Then you have weatherstripping, etc.. etc...
If you like the car, I'd say keep it, as you won't be getting too much for her as she sits..

Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking 4-5k but you know an owner always thinks there is more to be had than the market will really bear. Guess I wasn't too out of touch.
I've considered parting it out, but I have this wife... well, enough said. I might just donate it and take the tax write-off. Somebody will be happy. Definitely needs the interior done but otherwise runs like a champ.
I'd just keep her but I'm garage space challenged and the time has come to "upgrade" to a late model Z06. What can I say, the "fever" is a life long disease ;-)

Even then you only get the % of the car for what tax braket you are in. Even if they give you $4,000 and you are in a 35% bracket, you only see $1400. I'd rather sell it for 2500 if you have to.

Thanks for the clarification on the write off angle. Gotta love this forum.
Shotgun... pix might be premature as my ride is not for sale... just yet... shopping for the Z is taking some time... and she's my daily driver when the sun's out in the NW. That said, you are officially first on the list (per forum rules) when that day comes... which I hope is sooner than later. If you really want pix I'll see what I can do.
I doubt it would run as well on 87 gas? It's been fed premium exclusively for years and years. Doesn't the manual spec premium anyhow?
