Parts not installed
Complete conversion to brakes from 1996 Corvette Grand Sport including rotors, calipers, etc. All brand new OEM from dealer.
Known Issues
Wiper motor removed to clear aftermarket valve covers. Swaping to shorter valve covers would allow re-installation. I planned to never drive the car in the rain.
There is an oil leak at high RPMs (>4500). I have not had a mechanic look at it. This is not a small leak and I am not sure where it is coming from. No leaks under normal driving, only when you really get on the gas.
Paint is in fair to poor condition. Peeling in spots, showing original red color.
Body is good and straight. Only issue is that the targa top flew off on a quick trip to the store without it fastened correctly. It skidded on the asphalt and put gouges in the panted side of the top. This will require bondo/sanding, etc.
This car will not pass CA smog as is. I get by because it is registered in a county that only requires smog checks on transfer of ownership. If you know someone who will pass it for you, or you live in a state that has more lienient smog laws, you are in luck. If not, well you could swap parts back and forth or come up with another solutions. Either way SMOG is something you agree to deal with by bidding, this is being sold as an OFFROAD Vehicle.
Power Antenna does not go down on its own.
Driver door cover loose.
Paint removed to plastic on passenger side near bumper.
Car was just washed in picture. Paint is not as glossy as it appears.
Seats are in good condition except area of power controls, see pictures.
If desired, most parts removed are availible and will be included at no extra cost.
Specifically exhaust manifolds, catalytic converter forward exhaust incluing pre-cats, wiper motor. Original engine is not.
I can also include helms service manuals for the car at no extra cost.
I have many receipts. Unfortunately somewhere in 2 moves my notbook that documented the milage that I swapped the engine and changed the oil was lost. I bought the car with 129,265 miles on it in January of 2001. So, you can be sure that the new engine has less than 5,000 miles. Really, it is less then half of that.
This car was bought as a project car. I was planning on making a daily driver that I could roadrace and autocross on the weekends for fun. The goal on the engine was 400+ HP and 450+ torque. The lingenfelter superam 383 combination consistently makes these numbers.
I would love to continue with this car, however I have gotten married, bought a house, had a daughter, and have a son on the way. I simply dont have the time to work on it anymore.
If you want a car to get in and race, this is car is not for you. If you want a running car with lots of upgrades and lots of potential, this may be it.
Feel free to send me any questions and I will answer them if I can.
Buyer pays all shipping costs or picks up locally. Money Order, Cashiers Check, or Cash ONLY.

8.) Remember, no commercial postings unless you are a supporting dealer or vendor. This includes links to ebay. Any posts that are linked to a dealership or by a non supporting dealer will be disposed of.
eBay isn't allowed because it's just a mess for the moderators on CF if something goes awry with the sale.
No OBO either, forum policy is to ask for a price and lower it if no one bites.
Nice car, the ad appears to be honest and straightforward, so I wish you good luck with the sale.

and I quote from the winning bidder:
"WHEN YOU HAVE A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE FOR SMOG ,MISSING,MODIFIED,DISCONNCECTED EMISSION IS AGAINST FEDERAL AND STATE LAWS YOU HAVE NO CREDIBLR PAPER WORK FOR THE SELL !!! SORRY I AM OUT OF SELL THANKS GOOD LUCK WITH #2 bidder"
And of course as I stated:

You try and be honest, up front, give all info to potential bidders and you still get turkeys...
Anyway...I have ordered a chip cut for the stock computer. I'll hook up the MAF, stock computer, new chip, and get the oil leak fixed. Then maybe a dyno pull and put it up for $8k to $10k. In the meantime, $6k still takes it.

Yeah, except then he would leave me neg feedback too and since I sell things on EBAy, it would hurt me way more than him. Kind of screwed for the seller.
Anyway, bumping for reduced price. Computer is back to stock with a PCMforLess chip. Runs great. All guages work again, etc.
$6k
