Are you open to parting the car out? if so you could get 6k for it in parts even with 200k on the clock 3800$ is still way low.
Cause just the hood motor and suspension should bring that.

If its that easy, why not buy the whole car and make a profit on it yourself.

Great lookin car for the price, if you were a little closer, i'd be all over it. I may still check around on shipping it here...

It is that easy....
But the seller has to want to do it and in this case he does not.

Have you dismantled a car before? What do you do with all the parts that dont sell? How about all the labor involved?

Hood, motor and suspension should bring $3800???

I did a quick search of ads on here and some used part dealers...

200k mile L98 long block = $500 (maybe)

stock C4 hood = $150-$300

200k mile 700R4 trans = $350

200k mile springs front/rear = $200

Misc suspension parts = $300

Roof = $300

Wheels + tires = $200

What am I missing... anybody?

To the OP. Looks like a great driver car. I can't believe somebody hasn't scooped it up yet.

I think you're dead on. Asking prices on parts and actual sales prices are two different things.

Actually Eric, it may be easier here. The market here isn't as flooded as it is in say California or Florida. My 150K mile 84 sold in 3 days from a Craigslist ad. Granted, it was in very nice shape, but there aren't that many decent Corvettes around here for sale that are reasonably priced like yours is.

Yours will sell, and for what you're asking.

I'm pretty sure the owner won't care what you do with it after you put $3,800 in his hand.

That's a quick $2,000+ profit you're passing up.

Have you tried craigslist and the rest? It might take just a bit but somebody will come take it from you.

How is the dash?. All gauges work?, any cracking of dash cap?.
Weatherstripping condition?, headlight motors work?.

Congrats! He got a good deal on what looks to be a good driver.

My first Corvette was an 87 with about a million miles and a seat held together with duct tape. Now it has a half a million more miles (and new seats) and is still going strong.

Hey lil eric, this is that "older gentleman" who bought it. lol I still have that big smile. I'm getting ready to take it on a run to Ruidoso this upcoming weekend. That should be a nice drive.

Congrats on a great deal! Pics required on any road trip. I'll do the same if I'm out there this weekend.

Deal. I told my wife the trip was part of her Mother's Day, but she didn't buy it. She said, You just want to drive your car." Busted. lol
