WTB: Clean C4 under 100k miles, under $10k
Let me start off by saying that I have looked at many C4s over the past five years and I am determined not to go another summer without one. I am recovering from surgery so I need something that is in daily driver condition or better with all options present and working as they should. I am located in MA but willing to ship the right car to me.
My first choice is 84-89, preferably an automatic and preferably a garage queen with low miles. I would also consider a later L98 or an LT1, still prefer the automatic but more open to the 6spd versus the earlier 4spd manuals. I understand that an LT1 car would have more miles and be more expensive than a comparable, older L98.
A convertible would be great versus a standard Targa. An early convertible with low miles should be possible or again a higher mileage LT1. If it is a Targa I do not have a preference on whether it has a see through or solid top.
I think they best way to give you an idea of what I am looking for is to describe cars I was very close to purchasing and regretted that I did not:
85 Z51 82k miles, decent paint and interior, $4000
86 Coupe 65k miles, clean paint and interior, $5500
84 Z51 84k miles, fresh paint but interior original, $4500
93 Coupe 76k miles, very clean orig paint and int, $7500
Please let me know what you have! Thanks Greg

Do yourself a big favor and hit the Corvette Trader page. There are literally three '84-'85s there right now in the $10K area that are extremely low mileage garage queens. Seriously nice. The silver '84 with under 13K miles for $10,500 is gorgeous.

I paid $5300 for my 58K mile '86 L98 and it's not a NCRS car but a very clean mostly original car. So it can be done.

That is essentially what I am looking to find DinoBob although I'm willing to pay a bit more for it. I feel like if I spend $8k for a car like that and then see one for $4k I will majorly regret the purchase. I'll check out Corvette Trader. Amazingly that has not been one of the sites I frequent. I mostly look at eBay, Craigslist, and here.
