It may be possible to fit it into an early model C4 but, like I said, I've only had it on my 95. The good thing is the hardware and mounting components aren't physically part of the fiberglass diffuser so you could change up how you mount it and if you really wanted to... you could drill a few more mounting holes... No guarantees but its definitely plausible.
