1990 ZR-1 red/saddle 13,700 miles $22,500
***SOLD***
In 1990 GM astounded the world when it introduced the Corvette ZR-1. The dual overhead cam LT-5 engine, designed by Lotus and built by Mercury Marine, was like no other engine in the Corvette's history, and to this day remains the most exotic engine ever installed into a Corvette by the factory. The LT-5 engine immediately impressed with its smooth high revving power, and in the 23 years since its introduction it has earned a reputation for being extremely reliable and long lasting.
This 1990 ZR-1, #939, has been driven only 13,714 miles since new. It remains stock and un-modified except for chrome exhaust tips. The car still has the original special ZR-1 laminated solar windshield with no chips, cracks, or delamination that is common to these windshields. I recently replaced the tires with new Nitto NT555 Extremes. I do not believe the car has ever been wrecked or has had paint work.
Mechanically, this ZR-1 runs and drives great and it's ready to go. The original fuel injectors on the 1990-91 LT-5 engines are prone to failure due to ethanol in modern gasoline so in 2012 I replaced them with new (not cheaper rebuilt) stainless steel injectors from Fuel Injector Connection. Injector replacement on the LT-5 requires removal of the intake plenum, so I did everything I could "while I was in there". There were some minor oil leaks (known problems usually caused by bolts that loosen up over time) so I replaced quite a few seals and gaskets (oil pan gasket, dip stick tube seal, oil filter housing seal, crankcase breather gasket, crank position sensor seal, oil cooler line seals, etc.). That fixed the leaks. I also replaced the oil pressure sensor and low oil switch, and all the O-rings in the fuel injection system.
The vacuum-operated secondary injector system had a vacuum leak so I replaced the faulty vacuum solenoid and the vacuum harness (lines and check valves) under the plenum. The vacuum pump and the secondaries work great now.
I also replaced the serpentine belt, had the alternator rebuilt, tightened the injector housing bolts, and changed all the fluids including new Amsoil Z-Rod high ZDDP oil, transmission oil, coolant, brake fluid, and hydraulic clutch fluid. The previous owner had the AC compressor replaced and converted the system to R-134. I replaced the bushings in the headlight motors. Bose CD player and stereo system all works. About the only thing on the car that does not work are the sport seat lumbar functions. I have all new GM parts to fix them to be included with the car; I just haven't had the time to install the parts.
Cosmetically, the car is in excellent condition as would be expected for a low mileage car, with a small scratch on the glass targa top and a small area of spiderweb cracking which is barely visible on the rear bumper. The interior is in excellent condition with only extremely minor wear on the driver's side seat bolster. The engine compartment and undercarriage are clean but have not been totally detailed for show. You can detail it to like new if you want, or leave it as-is if you plan to drive the car.
The car comes with the full set of factory service manuals, the "pizza box" owners kit, Mark Haibeck's plenum removal how-to DVD, an un-opened owner's manual portfolio set, and a soft cotton indoor car cover. The car does not have the painted top. Not included in the asking price but available, are a set of factory (not heavier reproduction) 1994-95 ZR-1 five spoke wheels and a Corsa cat-back exhaust system.
Sold with a clean, clear, actual mileage New Mexico title in my name.
Located in Albuquerque, NM. Fly in and drive home or I can help coordinate shipping.
Asking $22,500. ***The car has been sold.***

I dont know how pressed for selling quick you are, but the carfax roll back mileage warning will definitely keep people away anf bids low due to the low score.
Carfax can correct the issues if you contact them and show them some kind of record where they can see the mistake made.
If I was you I'd cancel the auction before you are obliged to honor it at a pric too low and contact carfax on it.

Thanks. The carfax doesn't help anything, but I'm confident that the car will speak for itself. Carfax is only a tool to help evaluate a car, and it's only as good as the information that gets put into the various databases that it draws from. Errors are quite common. I would contact them but the error was long before I owned the car and I don't have any documentation. Also, anybody who knows these cars knows it's extremely difficult to roll back the computer odometer. I knew about it before I bought the car, and after seeing the car in person, I knew there was no way it was a 100,000+ mile car.

33,500
37,500
142,000
45,000
....it's pretty obvious what happened. Carfax is only a tool, it's not the holy grail, and the information has to be taken in context of the whole picture.
BTW.....that is a gorgeous Z. Let's send it back to the top.
