FS: 1987 C4 4+3 Convertible
I bought my 1987 back in October with the idea that it was going to be my wife's corvette since I have a C6. It needed a few things here and there but overall, nothing wrong with the car, just some cheap parts with the major exception of the weatherstripping needing replaced. Car runs fine, transmission shifts with no problems, overdrive works as you press the button in. HVAC heater works, A/C needs a conversion or if you can find some R-12 refrigerant, that would work since that is what this car came with. Custom stereo with a aux port was installed by the previous owner, sound works fine and has a CD player as well. Odometer reads 122009
My neck and back have gotten worse over the last few months to a point that I can't be crawling around inside a corvette so it's best I sell the car and just buy another one that needs no work.
Price: $6,500
What's Good:
-Engine is healthy and strong, no stutters or bad idle
-Transmission shifts and OD unit works fine
-New Shocks
-AP Exhaust
-Clutch is strong, I think it was replaced since it grabs great
-Instrument Panel works
-Turn signals work (After i replaced the flasher unit)
-Headlights work
-Belt, oils, plugs, distributor, plug wires, brake fluid, etc. are all new
-Tires show some wear but are completely serviceable
-Brakes work great
-Audio Bose system works great
-Gauges all work when flipped between modes
-No rust since it is garage kept since the last owner as that is as far back as I know.
- New paint job
- Fires right up near instantly from cold
- No visible leaks
- Power windows and mirrors work
- Custom Exaust
- Custom Rims
- Brand new battery (installed last week)
What needs replaced:
-Weatherstripping
-Bulb 563 in the passenger foot well (couldn't find them and can't get that low anymore with my back)
- Bulb 1156 for the corner white when you active the right turn signal (have the bulb)
- ABS Unit wheel sensors need looked into since the ABS light is on, unit does engage when turned into the "on" position, so the unit appears fine.
- minor cosmetic paint issue on the passenger rear corner
- Cruise vacuum line needs replaced
- knock sensor needs replaced
- Hatch relay needs examined since manual release cables are needed to open the rear hatch to stow and bring up the rag top
- Small tear in the drivers side seat
I am asking $6,500.00 and will entertain best offers if they are reasonable. Since there is no major work to be done on the car mechanically, I think $6,500.00 is a good price with title in hand. Below are some pictures of the car.
Additionally, I have created a YouTube video to show the car as well since pictures can sometimes not provide the information some interested parties are looking for.

Additionally, all paperwork over the years to the best of my knowledge also exists, initial window sticker, owners manual, as well as the Hayne's manual that I am including with the car since I no longer have need of the book.

Lack of interest makes it seem I am priced a bit high even though I am considering best offers. Dropped to $7,250.00.

now all of the for sale are going to need work but if you want to move it i would say your priced in the more sit and wait arena. its a fair price but not the price that is going to have people jumping at the chance to pick it up.
my 2 cents from watching a lot of for sale threads the last year.

Added to the Pros:
new shocks and a custom AP exhaust
After some research on what the exhaust actually was since there were no obvious markings.. Midweek bump.

Surprised haven't even gotten an offer on Autotrader at this point... Well, if it doesn't sell I guess it's getting modded to a zz4 engine. Weekend bump.

Burning Brakes
As a side note that Kenwood head unit is a terrific unit. I have one and like it for price and content.
Looks like a nice driver...I hope it finds a happy Corvette home soon.

Lee
