FS: '90 Black/Gray ZR-1
Sold! Thank you, Chris. Happy trails.
As I roll into my 72nd year I think it's time for me to trim the fleet. Each of my cars is still every bit as exciting as the first day I drove them so saying "Good by" to any is not easy. But even cars in fine condition push us for just "one more upgrade" and that's becoming a taller order for me with three Corvettes and a family Honda to care for.
Folks tell me my '90 ZR-1 is set up perfectly with its Haibeck Chip, 4.10 rear end (Marc says upgrading the rear axle gear ratio probably is the best benefit per dollar in major upgrades), ported intake, Hurst shifter, CORSA exhaust (with 3" pipes), drilled/slotted rotors, stainless brake lines, 32mm sway bar and LED driving lights and that's just the way I feel about it.
The car is black and gray with 70xxx miles, Texas inspected and titled and insured as a daily driver (as is my '94; the Lingenfelter wears antique plates). I'm the third owner of the car. My price is $19.5k.
Take a look, come take a drive and let's get another ZR-1 driver on the road. John
Please see my post #26 down below with more detail.

It is. I bought it so my grandson and I could have some time together driving from California to his home in Memphis. Hans and John Waltham and their wives arranged a grand send-off for us, we drove old Route 66, saw the Grand Canyon, visited friends along the way and the last night my grandson texted his Mom "I wish this could last longer" and so did I. I've enjoyed everything Hans did for the car during his tenure, I've done some other things and Hans moved on to a C6. John

Thank you and so is yours.
Incidentally I don't know if your signature means you're a Mazda as well as Corvette person but one of my favorite projects was a 2000 Protege (not a Miata) which I equipped with a Garrett turbo. That was about as much fun as anyone could have. Left many a Camaro in my dust wondering what in the world had just happened.
It looked stock unless somewhat saw the gauge pod or the heat extraction hood which gave a little over 2" for hot air escape above the firewall (and with the turbo, there was plenty of hot air).
Thanks again for the compliment. John

Yes, I have been restoring RX-7's for 16 years. I take on customer restorations as well as minor projects and such. The current car I am working on is for a customer that dropped the car off a few months ago. Currently I have no garage space for her car and told her that I would be able to get to it in the spring. A thread with the car's progress can be seen here:

I'll bet with the power to weight ratio of the Protege it was a very fast car!!
I have been toying with the idea of a ZR1 for some time now.. Yours is about damn perfect for what I Am looking for. My wife of course disagrees and points out that I currently have 8 cars...

Let me know if the ZR-1 fits into your plans. It is an amazing car.

What a great car. I live in Canada. If it wasn't such trouble to get something all the way home. I hunted hi and low for a car like this last year but ended up with a 96 CE LT4 convertible. My first vette. I love it though. Yours is amazing. Wish I could've swung that last year.

Take a look, come take a drive and let's get another zr-1 driver on the road for spring, the mountain run and the gathering in bowling green. John
