"Modified 4+3 to 4+4" means the overdrive is usually available just in the top three gears (2nd, 3rd and 4th - hence the "+3") but as part of the digital dash to AutoMeter gauge conversion I had to make overdrive available in all four gears although I can't imagine anyone actually using it in 1st gear. I still have the original dash so someone could revert if they so desired.

My 1990 ZR-1 drove out of my driveway today with its new owner behind the wheel but the three years it was part of my life was sublime. The same has been true of my five years with the Lingenfelter but I still need to trim the fleet. Tell me what's on your mind and let's find this this fine car a new owner. John

Thanks, Brandon. We're just back from our usual Sunday morning taco fest at Juan In A Million in the Lingenfelter and I was reminded once again why I love this car so much.
The ZR-1 was power with grace. You could take your mother in law for a ride and she'd think you a wonderful, level-headed guy. Then you could take your father in law for a ride and when the secondaries cut in he'd smile and say "Feels like a rocket ship".
But this car is different. Thirty years old but still drives like a jet-powered skateboard. It's 100% John Lingenfelter the legendary winner of 13 NHRA drag racing titles but without the refinement his later cars acquired. As the Beach Boys sang it's "Fun, Fun, Fun".
