Plan i s to try and get the LT1 running correctly. If it's toast......I believe an LS of some variant will be in it. Probably be caged, coil overs, gutted, race seats, and be a track car with a license plate.
Or, the tranny/rear is going in my 84 that is getting an LS swap.

The OP is a great guy, easy to work with, and was considerate of my time to get there. Thanks again, Rick, much appreciated.
It is nestled in the garage next to my 84 Z51 4+3. The 92 sits higher as it is on wheel dollys.

Just sent an email to the guy who worked on my 2013 about doing suspension, bushings, brakes on the 92. Also, about throwing a 383 in it while we are at it.
Plan to paint it back to the original color and swap the interior to solid black but probably put at leat a race seat in the driver side.
The 84, I want to do a TKO 5 speed with an LS of some variant. Nothing major, just a fun street car. Of course update the suspension bits.

Will do. I love the black rose color.
Turns out it is a base suspension. With FX3 and though the RPO codes say it has power sport seats driver/passenger, another RPO says it has base seats. It has dual heated mirrors too, base brakes, and the solid top is gone and has a glass one, that like all others.....is cracked. Lol
I picked up a new battery last night so I going tk try and see if I can get it running this weekend.

Something "strange" with the car.
1. New battery
2. Turned the key to "ON" and fuel pump primes. GREAT!
3. Turned all the way forward and the engine rolled and tried to start. Wouldn't start though.
4. Put just a hair of starting fluid in the intake and it roared to life but died moments later.
5. Used the key to prime the fuel system a few times and the car starts on it own. Idela for about 10 seconds and dies. Funny thing is I gave it a little throttle and it reaponded.....but....the gas pedal kicked back as if I was doing a burn out with the TC on. You know the feeling. Lol
6. Pulled fuel rails after the fuel pump primes the system and had tons of fuel.
After digging through the paperwork (thank goodness the OP kept it all) I see that the fuel filter was changed about 20k miles ago but it was over ten years ago. Next step is to replace that.
What's funny is I used a paper clip jump in order to get the codes thrown by the computer. Only code is H74. So yeah, nothing related to anything that I had thoughts of that could be the cause.
Anning to swap the fuel filter tomorrow and try it again. I had a 96 Buick GS 3.8 and it had a clogged fuel filter that would allow the car to start but it would die. I had fuel at the injectors then too. Almost as if it would allow fuel through when the pump primes but it wasn't letting enough through to even let the car idle. Let's hope this is the issue.
I don't "think" its the VATS but I may go ahead and do that just in case. I cleaned the key and ignition with alcohol and it changed nothing and I am getting spark and the starter to turn so I think the VATS isn't the issue but perhaps it's not allowing the injectors to fire, but it did start on its own a few times, so leaning away from VATS.
I will move this discussion to the tech section but let me know if you think I am not on the right trail.
I swapped the stock chip back in to the computer as it had a hyperjunk chip installed.

Not VATS. If it's VATS this will happen
1. Security light will be steady on, when trying to start the engine, and when the key is in the ON position.
2. If it was VATS, then egine wouldn't even turn over.
On this no start/ starts then dies, I like to test the opti first. Connect noid light to fuel injector number 1. Turn the engine over. Lights up, opti is good. No flashes from the noid, opti is bad. Then I would check for spark at the coil.

Alright, onward and upward. Didn't get any real time with the car today but I did change the fuel filter. I got in and primes the system a few cycles and BAM! The car fired and revved to about 1500 rpms for a few seconds and then settled at about 900 for 5 seconds and then it died. Lol
Planning to check the fuel pressure tomorrow night and see what thar gives me.
