Good question elder! You'd think they'd mention it somewhere.........
It almost seems a shame (IMO) that a car like that should just sit around for twenty five years. I wonder how much this car will sell for over and above the original purchase price.

It will be interesting to see what this car actually sells for.
I doubt if there's another ZR-1 to match what it is today.
A lot of positives for this one and only two negatives that I can think of.
My former wife's current husband has a black one for sale but his has
18,000 miles on it. Compared to his, this one has none!

Might be better to take it to the Mecum or Barret Jackson auctions?

The auction seems like a real good idea.
This car wouldn't be for me (even if I could afford it!)
as I like to be able to drive, not just look at it or keep
it as an investment.

We NCRS judged a 17 mile one in Texas at the regional last month. He was emphatic that we roll it with the key off so it would not hi 18 miles. The owner did not want us to take the bag off the seat or the plastic off the floor mats. Truly a beautiful car!!!

If you would like more pictures of the car you can also visit our website at SuburbanChevrolet.com, but here is the VIN 1G1YZ23J6L5800746. And like the previous post says the car was purchased in Oregon and has lived its whole life here.

Default ZR1 Still Available

The car is still available and now sits on our showroom floor with its 2013 ZR1 counter part. Let us know if you are interested in either car.

Nice car but what a waste just sitting all that time owner will never recoup the original price. It also has limited buyers which would be a collector. If I had money to burn I would buy it and drive the hell out of it.

I agree, but I feel a little bit stronger. It's a sin to buy any Corvette, especially a ZR-1 or other high performance one, and then not drive it. I just don't understand why anyone would buy such a great car and not have a blast with it. Crazy! I drive my C6 Z06 and '65 Fuelie Vert all the time and have a ball. You only live once!

About 8 months ago, I passed an exotic used car dealership here in NJ and saw a turquoise 1990 ZR-1 for sale, so I stopped in. It turned out it had less than 500 miles on it, and he told me verbally he was asking $49,995. He immediately came down to about $40,000 (I forget the exact amount). I told him I buy Corvettes to drive, and he would have to come down a helluva lot more. He asked if I would be interested in the 30's, and I said no. I checked his website a few months later and found he was asking $59,995. He still has the car, so I stopped in last weekend to find out if he lowered his price. He told me he was asking $59,995, but would let it go for $42,000. I told him he would be sitting with it for another 8 months.

I certainly agree with driving our ZR-1s or any interesting high performance cars. And I firmly believe that a well cared for, properly serviced driven ZR-1 is much more likely to have all the typical bugs worked out of it. I have put over 10,000 miles on my '95 since I got it in 2012. What a great car to drive, and so reliable that I take it to Bowling Green from Chicago every year. Never have had a problem that stranded me by the side of the road in either the '95 or the '93 over a combined 20 years of ZR-1 ownership. And Marc Haibeck's extra 100 HP sure adds a lot to the fun factor. But there are also people who really get excited about having the lowest mileage cars out there. It's what makes the world go round. --Bob

I get your point, but analyze it in terms of what they're missing vs. what we're missing. They don't get to feel the acceleration, or taking those tight curvy two-lane black-tops at 60, 70 or 80 mph, or blowing the doors off some smug Porsche, or driving to Corvettes at Carlisle or Bowling Green, or Corvette road trips, etc., etc. Both get to bring their cars to shows, get top flight NCRS awards, etc. We don't get to watch the dust settle on our garage queens' covers while sitting in the garage. No contest.

By the way, I'm negotiating to buy a '91 ZR-1 that needs an ECM. Can you help me with any leads on where to find one?

ECMs are a bit hard to come by. Have you been on the ZR1 Net Registry forum? (http://www.zr1.net/forum/index.php) There have been some postings about finding an ECM there. Also might suggest checking with Jerry Downey (JERRYS LT5 GASKETS & PARTS http://www.jerrysgaskets.com) or Marc Haibeck (www.zr1specialist.com). Others on the forum are more knowledgeable on this matter than I so I hope some will chime in. --Bob

Harvey Cadillac has a 40th anniversary edition for sale from his personal collection of vehicles with only 400 miles. http://www.harveycadillac.com/Vehicl...-MI/2376023343

I stopped in and seen the vehicle in October, as I was looking for a new Cadillac and wanted to see this low mileage zr1 compared to my LT1 Ruby. Excellent shape, not a scratch with new car smell.
