1989 Convertible. Second owner, with 21k miles.
SOLD!!!
I purchased this beautiful car 9 years ago from the original owner. It was delivered to Clippinger Chevrolet in Covina, CA. The owner put 17k miles on it over the 18 years that he owned it. It still had the original temporary registration in the windshield and rode on the original tires. During the period of his ownership, he kept it inside his art studio. He also kept every document from original bill of sale to most every service ticket.
Options on car: 1SB electronic A/C, Bose stereo system, power driver seat. Leather seats and power Passenger seat.
I purchased it because of its originality and decided to take it through the NCRS system. It received the utmost recognition: The Dave Mclellan mark of excellence award.
The car is driven regularly, and all systems work perfectly. The paint is shiny and unblemished. I replaced the tires but kept the originals mounted on a set of factory wheels which are included in the sale. I did replace the injectors, the drive belt filters and other normal items. The top is pristine; the rear window is clear with no scratches. The leather is perfect and shows no wear on the bolsters. There are no leaks, drive train is rock solid.
This car is as good as it gets. I have several other collector cars which are housed in my air conditioned shop in Chandler AZ.
Also included in the sale are all documents, the NCRS awards and judging sheets.
It is difficult for me to sell this great car but I have to make room for another project.
I do not need help selling and please… serious inquires only.

Yes it will be that special buyer.
If all else fails I will donate it to the NCM or the NCRS foundation.
Just want it to go to a good home.

It does not have a hard top.
Donation would only be to established 503c organisations.
Price adjusted.... I'm flying to CA tomorrow to pick up my new C7

RE: The Dave McLellan mark of excellence award
I owned a '79 with the McLellan; very difficult to achieve and should add a premium to the price if someone wants a special car.
NCRS McLELLAN Mark of Excellence Award®
This award was created by the National Corvette Restorers Society in 1997, in honor of Mr. David R. McLellan, long-time Chief Engineer for the Chevrolet Corvette, who retired from General Motors in 1996. The McLellan Award recognizes individuals for the restoration and preservation of 1975 - 1992 Corvettes.. To achieve this coveted award, an owner must attain a judging score of at least 97% out of 100 based on an original "as manufactured" standard at a National or Regional NCRS event; as well as present the car for a rigorous performance test of all vehicle mechanical components and functions, all of which must operate as those of a new car, without a single failure. Finally, the car must again score at least 97%, at a National NCRS Convention, to receive the McLellan Award. The process of achieving the McLellan Award requires attendance at a minimum of three events, and must be completed within a three year period. Currently only 118 Corvettes have achieved the McLellan Mark of Excellence. Dave McLellan has personally awarded the special plaque bearing his name at our annual NCRS National Convention.

Thanks for the endorsement toylman!!
I have several cars with the various NCRS awards. The nice thing is that once you go through the process, the cars are very easy to keep that way. None of my cars have been beat...
So its just what my wife calls "museum maintenance" Drive them a bit, dust them off tuck them away.
I am open to reasonable offers though... I have plenty of room.

I have 2 other corvettes 99 and a 15 plus a 70 Camaro... each as nice.
I can only drive one at a time.

That does not compute to me. If the money is not an issue pass on the car for someone to use and enjoy.
I'm not commenting on your price directly, I'm commenting on your logic.
It's a nice example of a car that was not really used and apparently not abused, but that is all, so a less fortunate person could really appreciate it and take care of it if they could afford it.
Please don't waste it at some car museum.

I've owned my triple black '89 convertible for about 15 years. I have very rarely seen an early C4 that appeared to be nicer than mine. Your '89 looks exceptional. Good luck with the sale!
