This may not be the best C4 Corvette in the world but it is close. For instance, some say their car has never been driven in the rain. This car has never been driven a mile with the top up. Why? My 16Z has a rubber strip where the back of the convertible top touches the body. The C4s didn't. They had a thin early version of wrap film that was cut in the shape of the convertible bottom. It would soon go away and then you would get a bathtub ring that was ugly and annoying. Not on this car. (BTW, it has always been a Ca or an Az car so we can predict rain pretty accurately and also this car has lived its life as a Pt A to Pt A cruiser on Sunday afternoons.)

I have owned two 93s with Santos built 383s. This has 16,000 on the motor that was installed in 95. My Camaro also got one in 96 and it currently has 42,000 on its 383 with nary a problem in that time. Rick Santos became the first Blown Alcohol Dragster in history to run 3 consecutive 5.50 passes that year. He went on to become a 5 time Federal Mogul Dragster World Champion winning 1 more than John Lingenfelter. In that time he did it with both Chevrolet and Chrysler power when NHRA added so much weight to the Chevrolet powered Dragster that he had to go to a Chrysler. He and his family can build a motor.

It is my view that the LT1 C4s are at the bottom of their value curve and if maintained and the mileage is kept reasonable this car will go up in value for the rest of time.

I really can't. Back in the 90's the Fikse's were still running the business and they were experts in fitment. Everything was made to order. These are 17 x 9.5 up front in fairly standard backspacing (I think 7 in) and the rears were the trick. Getting 17 x 11s to not rub on the control arms or contact above the front of the rear wheel was a trick and at the same time not stick out like the GS wheels did. Remember the little flare that Chevy did to cover the outside of the GS wheel? I think the key was getting the BS to about 7 1/8th. But the result is that the 17 x 11s are totally inside the body lines. I now have 315/35/17s on there but have successfully run 335/35/17 Kumhos back when they made them in the Ecsta 700 DOT tire. So the Fikse's simply worked there magic.

Now with the folks in Canada running that operation, I don't know. I would bet they haven't ever made a set of 17 x 11s in FM10s for a late C4. Maybe I am wrong. Give them a call and see what they say.

No need. Very helpful. I recall my order was made in 99 or 00 for the FM10s. I ran ZR1 wheels til then. But my guess is that all serial numbers pre sale to the Canadians are long gone. I will be happy to pull them. But I won't be up to the remote garage where I keep the 93 for a bit. If anyone wants those serial numbers please PM me in a week or so and I will be happy to get them.

I definitely like the FM10s.

I only kept the 2001 Z06 for a year as it had 385 hp and the 2002s had 405 and thought that would be a value killer.

A number of people have wanted the serial numbers off the Fikse's so they can find out the backspacing/offset on the 17x11s since they fit the wheel well so much better than the GS 17x11x. Here you go:

Rears: M116A02 0795 5518
M116A02 0795 5516

Those are the trick offsets to get a 17x11 with a 315 or 335 tire mounted to fit under the narrow bodied C4.

The fronts are I believe standard 7 inch backspacing and 17x9.5.

Fronts: M116A02 0795 5521 and 5522 for the other front.
