Default F/S: 1989 Corvette Auto Midnight Blue Excellent Condition

Hello all,

Trying to help a friend sell his car, and help a forum member pick up an excellent car. I have personally driven this car and it is a really sweet ride. He recently had a new exhaust installed and everything else is in perfect working condition. He purchased the car in 1996 from the original owner. Car has approx. 89K miles. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will pass them along. Asking $12,000. Thanks for looking.

Since your asking, here is my opinion. Miles are what they are. Condition looks good enough in the pics (it usually does) to inspire an actual inspection. That leaves the price. As a currently in the market for a C-4 buyer I can tell you this car is priced in territory it just doesn't live in. For me if a car is priced very off base I just pass right over it and don't give it a second thought.

You can find C5's with 90k on them for $12k. If this car was like a 94-96, mint with under 50k, then $12k would be a good starting point.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. The car really is in pristine condition. No damage or rust anywhere and is clean. What do you think is more appropriate $8K or $9K? Just need to help him with more feedback it wont hurt any ones feelings. Thanks again.

To the OP, might want to mention why the replacement valve covers. Still have originals? Anyway as to price, if it is as clean as you say and looks as good in person as the photos, I say you start in the $9k range. Sales price likely to be lower as higher mile C5's are getting into the $10-$12k area. As this thread shows, there just isn't the love for the L98 cars and despite the wishful thinking in the general section, prices of C4's are not going up. Your friend has a nice car and it will sell, just be patient.

Not tryin to rag on the car but to demand top dollar I would think the more original the better. As mentioned above this car has aftermarket valve covers, aftermarket radio and the wheels are from a 1990 model not 89. On 89 models the original wheels had a cover plate over the lug nut area. Just a few points. IMO I'd say maybe in the 6k range.
