This was posted in the C6s for sale section
Under the new GM pricing, the base price on Corvettes have dropped. The new prices are:
2006 Corvette Coupe $43,690 (down $500)
2006 Corvette Concertible $51,390 (down $500)
2006 Corvette Z06 $64,590 (down $110)
This MSRP will be reflected on all cars built from today (1/11/05) on.
Anyone who purchases a car out of dealer stock or had their car built before today will have the old price on their Window Sticker but will still get the new price.
If you purchase a car out of stock that was built before the Nov 18th price increae, you won't see a full $500 savings, but you will have the new base price. As of now, there is no change to any of the option prices.

I seriously doubt a $500 drop in retail on a C6 will have any impact on the C5 market. I can't think of any reason why a change of roughly 1% would impact the prices of used cars in a different generation.

This section is for buying and selling used C5's, not trying to convince C5 owners to lower their prices. If you think C5 owners are going to reduce their prices because new C6's came down $500, then your seriously If you find a C5 you like, offer them $500 less than they are asking. I'm sure they'll take it. So many trolls around here.

I got news for you the C5 prices are back up again. The wholesale market is very, very strong. Here are a few cars that sold,
2004 Coupe Yellow, auto, 10,000 miles, $35,400
2003 Coupe 50th auto, 27,000 miles, Nitto Tires, $32,700
2003 Z06 Blk, 24,000 miles, $33,000
Its been happening since Moby Dick was a minno, prices go up after the first of the year and get stronger closer to spring time.

I have to agree with Black magic, It's amazing at the number of posts were these individuals want to beat the forum members up on their pricing. Has anyone else noticed how many of these tire kickers don't own a Vettes?? and how many of them get in over their heads and have to sell their "DREAM CAR" within a year?? and how many go off the deep end modifing their vette only to sell it a few months later. What the hecks going on with this GENERATION coming up behind us?? Have we spoiled them??? This forum format has got to change!!! Most other sites have gotten away from the FREE ad's because of this type of riff raff. I wouldn't mind paying $25.00 or so to place an ad and help support this forum. This garbage is got to STOP!!!

It was just a question guy/gals, I'm not trying to get current owners of C5/6s to sell their car for less than the cureent market value... Have a blessed day

WOW, now the price has dropped $500, I can definately afford one, I have the other $43,690 right here in my back pocket!! I don't think a $500 drop is going to make anyone who wasn't buying a C6 before drop everything they're doing and run out to the nearest Chevy dealership!! If you can swing the first $43, 690, the additional $500 shouldn't kill ya. Good day

It is not hard to get a 5-6grand discount on a C6. Is another 500 really going to change anything.

It seems that $500.00 is a big deal to a lot of folks around here. I always thought Corvette folks had a bit of financial stability, but from many of the desperate to sell, etc. post I've been reading...looks like I be wrong again.
