I have 7 2002 Dale Earnhardt Signature Edition Monte Carlo SS' coming in.
These cars have a target production week of 12/31.

These are a limited production car.
Only 3,333 will be built.

All Earnhardt Edition Montes will be Black (of course) with Silver ground effects.

The package includes: 16" diamond cut aluminum wheels, rear spoiler, stainless steel exhaust tips, Signature Edition graphics on the exterior, embroidered floor mats and front head rests, Signature Edition instrument cluster, pewter inserts on seats and door panels, and door opening kick plates.

Other options include: Black heated leather seats with power driver and passenger, power sunroof, CD and cassette, and engine block heater.

All cars will have the 3.8 liter V-6 with a 4-speed automatic transmission, a/c, power windows, locks, heated outside mirrors, rear defrost, and driver info center.

List price: $29,575.

You must have missed the discusion in off topic where everyone came to the same conclusions about a $30,000 200 hp front wheel drive posermobile.

I'd start discounting them as soon as they come in, the chevy dealer here has all of his inventory and told me he had not even had an offer on the two in his showroom.

To my knowledge GM was planning this before the Daytona 500 accident. The incident in Daytona just made GM get the car out sooner than thay planned. Both Theresa Earnhardt and RCR (Richard Childress Racing) have gave their blessing to the idea. I think that if Mrs. Earnhardt didn't approve, then it would not have happened. In my opinion, GM has too much respect for what Earnhardt has done for Chevrolet, GM, and Winston Cup.

I don't consider the car "whoring out" Earnhardt's name. I would think that Dale Earnhardt Inc. and his estate is getting something for the use of the name.

F.Y.I.- GM also did a Earnhardt Edition Lumina in 1991.

Great looking car with partial proceeds going to the charitable trust set up by the Earnhardts.
We had a couple and have sold them (at a discount I might add).

We GMS'd all ours just to get rid of them, don't really want any more.

They have been making Earnhardt Signature Edition cars for awhile, The Camaros are sweet, i heard this is the first and last year of the earnhardt edition monte carlo. And no where on the car does it say Dale Earnhardt Sr. It has the three drivers names of DEI on the side back quarter panel if im correct.

shame, but yes it was in production before the tragic accident, and the family gave the go ahead, but just wish it could have been a beefier car. maybe last year camaro would make more sense.
