T/W 1999 C5 Mallett 435 Edition $30,000 OBO?
Hello everyone,
I have just recently came across this little gem and I am thinking of selling it. I am still evaluating its price and asked in the general section and was directed to post here.
I have saw similar setups going for around 30K so that's where I'm starting.
If I receive enough interest than I will officially put the car up for sale.
The car is a manual 6 speed and a non convertible.
I have a 1999 C5 Mallett built Corvette.
It is serial Number 99-006 and is black exterior on black interior.

The car has 60,000 Miles on it and is in immaculate shape.
Here is a basic run down of the car more can be found at mallett's website.
Quick Specs:
372 CID 500 HP V8
"D"-port stainless long-tube headers
Mallett Custom Twin 5-Spoke Forged 3-Piece Wheels, 18x9.5, 18x11
Mallett/Penske Indy-Style Shock Absorbers (External Reservoir)
I believe it has cam's installed also but can not find their specs.
It also has Stainless steel exhaust from headers back and end in a carbon fiber muffler setup.
Mallett's published Specs after package:
HP 500 @ 5,800 RPM
Torque 500 LB-FT @ 4,500 RPM
0-60 MPH 3.9 seconds
1/4 Mile 11.55 @ 122 MPH
Top Speed 192+ MPH
Skid Pad 1.01 g
Contact me at uva240@yahoo.com or PM me through here or just post below.
Pictures Below:
Sorry they are not scaled down.
Also a short Clip for it running windy though:

Thank you fir you honest opinion. Did you read the complete list on their site? The car is also dyno tuned and track tuned as well.
Maybe 30k is a little up there but I'm hoping people will make offers.
Thanks for your input though.

I think the 435 = the RWHP and 500 HP at the engine. Thats really about the same as a heads and cam car. Somebody paid a lot for the Package but I have to think low 20's? Engine bay doesn't look al that clean, might want to shine it up some....people like bling!

Mods are great....for the person who wants them.
When it comes to resale, they add no value unless you happen the find the one person that wants exactly what you are selling. Otherwise they may as well buy a basic car and mod it the way they want it.
If you could get 20K for that car I would grab it, but I don't think you'll get that in today's market. Just my opinion, but you asked for opinions.

If you really want to sell it get the engine cleaned up and show some pictures of the interior. Those mufflers are fugly too. I agree with the above too many miles to get that kind of money in todays market if it had under 10k ehhh maybe for a collector...but you know what P.T. Barnum said. Good luck

Before I sell it i will have it detailed and everything will be spotless.
It has had only 2 owners and the first had it from 98-05 and put 7,000miles on it. The last owner put all the rest on it.

Regardless of owners and how much they put into it, best dollar you will will get is looooow 20's. The 435rwhp is not a lot. It's not overally done up tho it has a $$$ package, doesn't really help value these days.
Good luck selling, but if someone offered 22k, I'd take it and run.

J_davis405 I have pm'd you.
I understand what your saying but the car also has had a fully built and tuned suspension. So it was tuned as a package. I really do agree that it starts to step on the heels of the c6 so I'll think a little more about the price.
I thank you guys for all your help and for the pleasent experience on your forum.
Once I have all my ducks in a row I'll post the offical sell add. Until then please feel free to give me any information you would like to share on this car and asking price.
The car is located in Cincinnati, oh by the way.
Also does any one know what coupe FR means? Mallett's registry has it listed as a coupe FR. They have thre car types for the c5 coupe, convertible and coupe FR.

It's tough getting top dollar for tuner cars these days. Car # 14 is for sale in IL. asking 38K but lower mileage. Link: http://www.mlautosales.com/digitalsh...hp?id=X5107322
Its been for sale for awhile. Good luck and 30K may be a start after it's detailed. Those rims are sweet.

Thanks for the information.
I'm hoping to have my offical forsale add up in the next few weeks.
I was looking around and found this was the 6th mallett c5 made in 99 and also was the first fixed roof of only ten made.
I can't wait to fully detail it amd get pics up.
The wheels are nice looking I like them alot and they help make the car look sinister in person.

It seems that some of the opinions here aren't taking in to account what the car actually is. This is a full tuner package car that was serialized as such, fully documented and recorded at the Corvette Museum. This isn't some backyard hillbilly contraption that is a wannabe Z06. It will hold it's own against a C6Z06 (will beat it on the track) and has a better suspension under it. It will embarrass a C5 Z06.
I understand, given all that, you will have to find the proper buyer, as most on here see it as just another C5. This is more of a presitge or niche collector car now. As for value, it is listed under the NADA Guides as a Mallett Corvette, not a Chevy Corvette. This is very useful for a buyer needing a loan valuation. Values for tuner cars are variant. The car isn't old enough to garner high value yet, but it might someday. Look at the Yenko Camaro's, this is the same kinda deal.
Honestly though, specialty car buyers want to see a clean and well cared for car. Get the key pod off the window, and clean the heck out of it, inside and out, top and bottom, and under the hood. I would get these pics down.
