GM Employee pricing on new vettes
Could anyone tell me if GM has lifted the ban on special GM Employee pricing for the purchase of corvettes? (Kind of similar to Ford's A Plan.) I know that it had been in affect for the past couple of years but have never heard it has been removed. If it is available, how does it work and is it worth the trouble.

Re: GM Employee pricing on new vettes (STRSHP)
There has never been an official "ban" on selling a Corvette using the GM Emplyoyee "GMS" or "GMO" pricing/ordering. The Dealer's are just reluctant to do it is all! They get $$$ frm GM that gets them really close to MSRP, so I don't know why they won't do it. I was told that they give up an allocation for future orders if they honor a GMS deal...I don't know if this is true or not.
I am a GM Employee and I bought my '02 Roadster from Steve Tillman @ Maxie Priice Chevrolet in Georgia. I know there are other Maxie Price sales folks here and on other Forums, but Steve is the one I worked with for GMS pricing and he was first-class to deal with all the way. Give Steve a call and tell him "Mike from Seal Beach" referred you. (770) 207-7000. Good Luck!!
BTW...got my fully loaded '02 MN6, 1SC, Z51 MagRed II OUT-THE-DOOR(tax, CA lic. & everything) delivered to SoCal for $47,441!

Re: GM Employee pricing on new vettes (OCMike)
gm does not allow gmo on vettes
gms has always been allowed
the difference is only about $400 anyway
selling gms costs the dealer nothing but profit so when times are booming and they are bringing a premium, dealers would rather make the premium than sell it for a small profit like with a gms deal.
maxie price has been honoring gms for quite some time.
you may contact steve tillman at 770-466-7000 or monica
at 770-207-7000.
hope this helps

Re: GM Employee pricing on new vettes (maxievette)
....Don't mean to split hairs here...but when I contacted the GM Family First management, they could not provide me with anything in writing stating GMO (dealer order) is not recognized on Corvettes. (GMO is ordering/GMS is buying off the floor). They did agree that there is a "myth" amongst Chevy Dealers that you cannot use GMO on a Vette. (There words, not mine.) In fact, a lot of dealers believe GM will not honor GMS ( dealer stock), but this too is 100% up to the individual dealer. (Probably why I had to go to Maxie Price in GA when I am in SoCal). Regardless...Big Thanks Maxie Price for honoring GMS and I hope to order the C6 the year AFTER it is released.

Re: GM Employee pricing on new vettes (OCMike)
Clarification....Gm has in the past allowed GMO on vettes for Gm Employees but recently(in the past few mo) they have discontinued the program. You can still buy one GMS or out of stock...
