Re: Resume lease on nice 99 Pewter Hardtop w/lease payments included (TAL)
Can't believe nobody's jumped on this one...
A little rough arithmetic on the "net" to own this car:
Remaining 14 months lease payments: $9,008; add
Residual: $22,400 = $31,408; subtract
Deposit: $600 = $30,808; subtract
Time value of money for the $22,400 you don't have to spend for a year and a half = (give or take) $2,300 = $28,508 =
A nice deal on a very nice-looking car....
No personal interest here - just an observation.
Here's a free "ttt" for ya! :D

Thanks for the kind words Steve!
I have had a few people try to take over the lease but their credit was marginal.
The buyer must have good credit to resume this lease.
You are right the car is in near new condition. The few people who did want the car didn't even have to drive it. They saw it and wanted it!

I wonder how the mods that you have done to it affect whoever turns the car in at the end of the lease. Do they penalize for the vehicle no longer being stock? Anybody know?

So if one were going to go ahead and buy it at lease end he/she would just leave the mods alone, right? But if he/she were going to turn it in then you would need to restore the stock stuff, right? I wonder what kind of penalty one would incur if the stock parts weren't out back on?

Leasing agents generally give you some leeway. Minor bolt-ons are generally not a problem if left on the car.
Appearence items may detract from value, however. Different wheels, exhaust, and interior could raise a red flag.
As you can see from my Hardtop I kept the mods to a minimum while still enjoying some aspects of mods.
