I personally think the price is a little too high. My friend is picking up one identical to that, 99 FRC with 109K miles with some mods (400-420 whp) for $11K. But if your in no hurry hold out for what you want.

Your honest description will scare off a lot of people. $12.5 for a car with leaks would not interest me. I'd give more for a car with fewer problems. JMHO

thanks for the honest replies. i'm not expecting to get 12,500 - price was decided anticipating low ball offers from craigslist tire kickers and also the offers to pay full price after i give them my paypal acct, password, ssn, credit card #s, etc (fun, i know). i'd take less, but as stated i don't mind keeping the car and finding a bucket of money to pour in the pit.

the description is great. i wish more people listed all the flaws. i know i sure do when selling a car.

the only problem with this one is that 12.5

if the motor is burning oil and has leaks virtually everywhere you're selling a rebuilder. i actually looked at one of those the other day myself. the thing is many of us would rather spend 15k on a 60-70k mle 2002 coupe that needs nothing than consider a project car unless the deal is really good. i looked at a 93k mile 2001 coupe the owner wanted 13.5 for, on the phone he made it sound like it needed nothing. when i got there it was burning a lot of oil, had leaks everywhere. alternator was squeeling like a pig. car needed the frame dropped and a complete go-through. after thinking it over the most i would have given is 7500-8000. if that sounds cheap for a 93k mile 2001. well, on paper it is but i actually wrote up a list and i'd be in the car a minimum of 12-13k and that's if i did all the labor.

a good friend of mine picked up an FRC that was in pretty good shape that was blown up from too many nitrous passes. got the car for 5000.

if you realistically work up how much your car needs in repairs it should help get an actual dollar amount that it's worth

it's easy to price the newer lower mile stuff. a 20k mile 2002 z06 goes for 20k on the low end and 25k on the high end. simple. they are all mint 1 owner cars for the most part. this older higher mile stuff is all about condition. one may sell for 12 and another for 6500 but on paper they look the same. of course the cars aren't anywhere near the same when you look at them in person

thanks again for the feedback. price updated to 10,900 on the ads since 12,500 is unreasonable.

there's an extremely detailed thread on all of the water leaks common to a c5 thanks to bill curlee.. conducting a simple search is just as easy as posting a quick reply. clean title but the car has been wrecked. did i say new paint?? -.- lets remember it's 14 years old with 149xxx miles. If you're looking for a showroom piece, you should keep looking.
