SOLD -- 1998 Convertible C5 Carmine Red 31,296 Miles ($14,900 obo)
SOLD on 1/30/17
_._._
I am currently selling my C5 convertible that I have owned for 12 years. I simply don’t have time to drive it anymore with everything else we have going on. I’ll be glad to add answer any questions in the thread to keep it all in one place. I edited this post to clean it up a bit. The car is a low mileage vehicle with the bolt-ons listed below. The car has no leaks, no rust, clean title history, tires are like new, had no body work or touch-ups performed, and needs no reconditioning. The car is in very good condition. Other than the items listed below, everything else was deliberately kept original.
Price:$21,900$16,500$14,900 obo
-- A&A P1SC kit; installed and dyno-tuned by Thunder Racing (525 rwhp); car has less than 3k miles since installed
-- Lingenfelter Fuel pump with 42# injectors
-- New RPM Transmission (breaking in; less than 500 miles)
-- New DTE 4.10 Stage 3 rear end (breaking in; less than 500 miles)
-- New Textralia OZ700 Clutch (breaking in; less than 500 miles)
-- DTE Rear End Strut Brace; installed by Thunder Racing (less than 500 miles)
-- Borla Stinger Exhaust with corvette flag/chrome exhaust plate
-- Dynatech LT Headers w/high flow cats
-- GSD3's with probably less than 5k miles on them
-- Autometer Boost and Fuel Pressure Gages (black to match interior) on two-gage pod
-- Hurst short-throw shifter
…minor stuff
-- 160 degree thermostat
-- NGK TR6 spark plugs
-- Optima Red Top battery
Please post or send me a PM if interested.

As promised, I took some photos today. As you can see from the photos, I'm probably being conservative on the condition. It has some wear for being 16 years old, but it's in great condition. I'm also thinking it'll be really hard to start parting things out based on how much time I spent making sure everything was perfect. BTW, it dyno'd at 525 rwhp, and it could have been tuned for much more, but I wanted it to run on 91 octane. The goal was also to not look like anything other than a Sunday driver.

Sorry guys. I haven't been posting on this forum since I don't drive the car, and I apologize for not seeing the posts. I also just realized my email notifications were showing "none" on this thread. I have been busy, and I didn't have time to pull up the thread. I haven't been in a hurry to sell it, and I have been extremely busy at work.
So, yes, I still have the car. I bought it 12 years ago with 11k on it. It was a car I bought before I was married, and we just don't use it like I used to. I also tried to make the build reliable for street driving, but it's still not something I would drive to work really on any day. I have a long commute to work, and I just don't bring it to there. I'll miss the car, but it's better off selling it at a price to move than to sit on it forever.
Just send me a PM if you're interested. I promise I have those turned on to let me know.

Well, as we can see from the post history, I'm likely hanging onto this one for a little too long. I only start it periodically, and it's really in the way at this point. So, I moved the price from $21,900. I'm ready to get it out of the garage, as it isn't doing the car any good like this. Please take a look at the new price, and PM if you are interested. Not a whole lot has changed in the past two years, but I am seeing some smaller issues from it sitting. I need to change the autometer pressure sensor (<$100), O2 sensor alarms are coming in sporadically, and the gas gauge goes from correct to half-value intermittently.
I think it's time to let someone take it who will actually drive it.

Beautiful car! It's weird how pictures don't do this color justice. The Carmine Red looks so much better in person. Someone is going to get a great car there. Good luck with sale

Very nice looking vert with a lot of good mods. Best of luck with your sale.
