It's actually by far the cheapest car to own of our three vehicles. I have an agreed $50k value policy with State Farm that costs me about $300 every six months with an annual 5,000 mileage cap. In Missouri we are blessed with annual personal property tax (yay!), but because its titled as a '66 Ford GT replica, I pay around $100 a year. Way less than my wife's Cadillac (about $600/yr). All is legal and on the up and up. Three other state troopers were standing there watching while one attached the VIN plate to the car. The SEMA-drafted replica laws that Missouri adopted sure make things a lot easier.
