Default ? about '03 50 Aniv Pkg Value

I am looking at a 2003 50th Anniversary Edition. It is a convertible with 6 speed manual, selective magnetic ride control and 112k miles. No other options listed or found on VIN websites. The interior is in pretty good condition (few significant wear marks on center console) and the exterior paint is very good for the age and mileage.

My question is this, for the condition and miles, what is the value of the 50th Anniversary package over a similar Magnetic Red paint and Lt. Oak interior? Any guidance would be appreciated.

All other things being equal NADA says about $1,000.

Certainly condition is a large player at those mileages.

Hope this helps

I'm partial to the 50th anniversary cars because I own one, so my opinion is inherently biased. If you were talking about two cars with miles in the 20s, the anniversary car would command a stronger price because there is simply a certain demand for that car. With miles in the 100s, all else being equal, the anniversary car is still worth more, just not as much more IMHO. All things being equal I say the anniversary car brings around 2500 or so more at manheim with these miles.

I would think it's more than that. And the only way to get the MAG ride in 03' was with that 50th package which includes the special paint and that fabulous shale interior.

so, would you say that a seller/dealer would be "blowing smoke up my 'you know what'" when telling me that the 50th Anniversary package should still command a $2k premium?

YES and any dealer is that says that.

I think once you get over 100K miles they all level out on pricing.. now if your talking about a low mileage C5 Anniversary Edition then yes its worth more than your everyday stock C5 Coupe. But the Z06 C5 still rules any of these C5 models. If you want something that will hold value in the C5 buy a Z06 and spend a few more bucks but it will be there if you take care of it when you sell it someday.

Don't let car salesmen blow smoke up you.

Its a buyers market right now.. SHOP SHOP SHOP, don't settle

FWIW - the production numbers for 2003 read 11,634 total vettes with the anniversary red color (94U) that is coupes and verts.
The production numbers for the new magnetic ride (F55) that year are 14,992 total, coupes and verts total.

Hope this helps

There were a lot of 1SC (anniversary edition) cars made so they are not super rare for that year. However, they are fully optioned cars. The only available options on a 1SC car were the performance axle and stick shift. That is one of the reasons they are still valuable.

Aside from the normal badging, the head rests were embroidered. They had a special exterior color (50th Anniversary Red) and special interior color(Shale) for that year. They also had padded arm rests on the doors.

There is a premium for them over other cars. I haven't been following them too much but the last time I saw one go across the auction block was Mecum in the spring. A 2003 Anniversary Edition Convertible 6-speed left the podium at $24000 but it was a bidding continued. I haven't looked up the final sale price for it.

They didn't make the Z06 C5 in a convertible, did they? I am fairly insistent on a convertible.

I didn't see you say it had to be a vert just that you were looking at a convertible.

If your going to buy an 03 Convertible 50th Anniversary i would tell you to spend a bit more money and buy from one of these guys that are selling on this board, they have kept up with their cars and also the low mileage will make you smile for many years.

You won't regret it

If the OP considers a forum vehicle. I am selling my low mileage '03 anniversary edition convertible here. It has all the speed of a Z06 with the drop top experience.

While the only way to get the anniversary paint and two-tone shale interior was to order the 50th AE package, the MSRC was available as an option on any base vehicle starting in 2003.

It was not available if you ordered the Z51 or the Z06 packages.
