2003 Chevy Corvette C5 Z06 Track Day Car
I am selling my C5Z. I have owned it for about three or so years. I bought it and it became my first dedicated track car.
When I bought it, the car was completely stock except for stainless-works exhaust and long-tube headers. However, late in 2013, the stock LS6 valve-train let loose, dropped a valve, killed the motor.
So, at this point I decided to have Golen build an engine for it specifically for track use. It is a LS3 block, bored to 3.905. Stock crank, but forged pistons and rods, all ARP hardware, decent cam (244/250, 112 LSA), high-volume oil pump, stainless valves, 90mm TB, Fast 92mm intake, etc.
The car runs great. The engine made 544 hp on the engine dyno and 456 rw-hp on a chassis dyno (Superflow, not Dynojet). And that was with a conservative (durability) tune, about 24* timing and 12.0 AFR. You could definitely get more power out of the care if you wanted to run it on the edge.
As for the car, it has Kirkey Aluminum seats for both driver and passenger, and Schroth 6-point belts. There is a roll bar and harness bar, but the car is NOT fully caged. Transmission is a stock GM T-56 but has the C6Z shifter on it.
With the new horsepower, the car tended to run a little hot (coolant and oil) so I put in a monster aluminum radiator with integrated oil cooler. On a hot day at the track the highest ECT I would see would be about 205 and oil at about 230. Car also has a transmission oil cooler.
Stock wheels are gone and a set of staggered TSW rotary forged wheels (Interlaggos, I think), 18x9.5 front and 18x10.5 rear. There is a set of BFGoodrich Rivals on there currently which are little over a year old and have maybe 50% left.
Brakes are generally stock, I can't remember what pads are on the car now. It does have the Doug Rippie brake ducts.
Other things the car has are some monster Pfadt sway bars and some fancy matte black racing stripes. There are some scratches on the fenders; body was the car is straight and fit is good, but there are some scratches, scuffs, and black marks consistent with a car that has seem some considerable track time.
The car has a clean and clear title, but has not been registered for some time. It is techinically not street legal as it does not have catalytic converters, nor DOT approved seat belts. It will not be able to be taken on the street for a road test. However, I can arrange a day at a local track to take it for a test drive if needed.
I believe the car has about 34,000 miles on it, but I am not sure about that. Certainly less than 40,000. I just can't remember.
The reason I am selling the car is because I barely drive it anymore. My track-day career has changed over to racing this year, and since this car is not fully-caged or really prepped for that purpose, I don't use it and I am going to sell it.
I'd like to get $19,000 for the car. The motor itself which has about 1,200 miles on it is worth over $10k. This is an extremely fast, well handling rocket-ship for the right guy. Car comes with some spares (maybe belts and some pads and/or rotors if I have them). I do not have the original seats.

The car is located in Northern NJ, 07874. I'd probably be easily convinced to drive some to meet. Probably a few hours.
A question arose about maintenance items: Let's see. Since the car has only seen track use in the last 24 months, I will describe what you ask for based on number of track days.
All new wheel bearings (SKF) about 5 days ago. New rotors about 3 days ago, new brake pads about 3 days ago. Shocks (if I recall correctly) are all Bilstein, at least two years old, but are not blown or leaking. Stock/original fiberglass leafs. Could use an oil change, I'd say.
I forgot to mention the oil filter modification I made. When I put the cooler in, I used a remote oil filter kit to accomplish this. In doing so, I relocated the oil filter to behind the front left wheel, concealed and protected by the inner wheelhousing. And in doing so, I upgraded to a much larger, higher volume Wix filter.
