Pretty much any c5 over 100k miles I'd say 9-12k except maybe 03's and 04's.

My 02Z is very decent for slightly more @ $15K.

Its a nice turn key car that was well cared for its just about to turn 140.

I use it on nice days when I don't want to drive the new car.

Since I bought it I did all the repairs needed its a very solid car.

10 is going to buy you a corvette you need to put 5 in to enjoy.

I recently purchased a C5 and I will tell you that 10K will fetch a rough car.

Best of luck,
Mike

Sold my 98 C5 with 73k for $11,000 then bought it back six months later for $11,000 because I couldn't stand seeing it sitting out side on a dusty dirty used car lot.

From what I've seen I mean rough as in:
1. Paint doesnt shine too well
2. Interior looks like someone was living in it
3. Engine compartment looks neglected
4. Dry rotted tires
5. Dirty fluids
6. Low brakes
7. Squeaky drive
8. Windows loose in the tracks
9. AC or heat not operational

I guess I can go on but you get were I'm going..

So for a shade tree mechanic and car detailing enthusiast a low priced c5 could be a decent flipping opportunity?

Are c5 coupes and c5 z's still depreciating?

I recently bought a 99 FRC off the forum for $11K. Paint is a 7. Interior is an 8. Transplanted LS6 with H/C/I, rebuilt trains, new clutch, rebuilt rear, reproduction C6Z wheels with new tires, thumping stereo, and NO2.
It's not perfect, but for the price, I can paint the car and throw some seat covers on it and be well under what some of the people on here are asking.
It's all about patience.

I beg to differ. I bought my 2000 FRC for 10k and the car was immaculate. Had 150k on it and I had people guess the mileage all the time. Highest they would guess was 50k. No squeaks, paint was amazing, drove awesome. All depends on the previous owners. I wanted a high mileage car. Already bolted up a sts twin turbo kit and am having alot of fun. For less then 13k I have a 500rwhp c5 that's a blast. I love it. I take pride in higher mileage cars that still look mint.

Have you drove one? They are awful. Rear end is glass/ tranny feels sloppy and poor position. Car is heavy and the ls6 feels so underpowered in that car. Honestly the GTO feels like a way better car. The cts v is no comparison to the z06

I only drove the 2nd gens...was hopin they were still decent. I never considered a GTO...strangely. I had a hard time getting into the aussie look of the GTO...the body is so damn bland...but I'm with you, has to be a way better car than the heavy caddy. Wonder if she'll be into it.

She is driving the 330ci...she wants more performance, but likes the luxury of the bmw. I imagine those GTO's were pretty ******...I've never been in one. Gonna have to test drive the two I suppose...see what she thinks.

Check my car, I would do 10.5k on it without the apsis interior, I can put the Z06 mod red back in for the 10.5k

I'd vote it down...went '01 C5 to '02 Z to '04 GTO to
05 CTS-V to '07 Z to '07 335 to '09 CTS-V...

If you want seats and a decent driveline for the $$...get an '06 GTO. Gen 1 V is a joke.

I'd readily swap an E46 for an E92 or E90 with a tune...still undervalued if you can visit the internet to fix it...
