Op youll see that a lot on forums moreso with Vettes for some reason
Lots buy into the "its special rare and probably worth way more in a few yrs" dream.

most new cars have so many options/gadgets its easy to break a # down and tout its 1 of ???

There are definitely deals out there when it comes to C5 Corvette's. I think people have their's priced a little bit higher because you get what you pay for. I know that modifications do not add any value to the car, but if you can find a lightly modified car for a little bit more than a stock car, in the long run that will be cheaper then modding it yourself.

Still on the forum, just didn't feel the need to reply. If you pay attention to people's profiles, it tells you when they have logged on.
To quote somebody on this forum "people drive all the good out of their cars, then expect top dollar".

Still looking for a car. I have recently moved, and now that the weather is getting nice I hope to find me a deal. I'm not worried about a car that needs work, as I know my way around LS engines and these cars. Part of my love for the C5 started with an old friends car.

And to address some of the other responses, no I didn't reply to your message if you sent me a salvaged title or exceptionally high mile car.

And for anybody who's cross eyed wondering about that color. It's orange flame, and was only used for one year on the 1976 Corvette Stingray.

Nice link, thank you, but that's for 2001 and later models. The 'vette I had eyes on was a '98. BTW, I just went back to talk to the owner again and the car is sold, so the EBCM problem must not be that big a deal for some.

This is true. I got some great info to my messages! And for the most part I think this is a great forum, and I spend a lot of time reading what these guys have to say, what they're doing to their cars and such.

Been dreaming about this car for a long time now. I have a photo of me, at 10 years old cheesin in front of a 2004 Z06 sitting on the show room floor. Just wanting to see that come for fruition.

I have a 2002 quicksilver cpe 6 spd Z51 with 32,500 miles in outstanding condition. Garaged and covered. This car has every option except magnetic ride. I am the third owner. Purchased car in 4/2004 with 13,500 miles right here on the Forum from A guy in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
I purchased sight unseen and flew out to Detroit. Drove car back out to Connecticut.
I have put less than 20,000 in 12 years. If you are serious we can work out a deal. You are about 4 hours away. If you want to check it out my Vin # is 1G1YY22G325116941. Asking $19,000 OBO.
Thanks
Mac

Key is to have funds ready to go as soon as a good deal pops up.
Either one of you should be pming the guy on top of your post.
Also be willing to travel. Great way to get to know a car on the ride home.

I have a 98 that is still on the market, lots of interest but no cash in hand yet. 105k miles, clean title, I would take $9k for, it has some milds mods. My aunt did them when she bought the car maybe 2 years ago.

It is an auto, but a good price.
