FS: 2003 Z06 - Dry Sump LS7 - High End Build - Over $100k invested
Hi,
Now I'm not even sure if I actually want to sell my car, but I've decided to test the market. My asking price is well above the typical C5 selling point, but I feel the value is there. Since I cannot touch anything close to this car in performance without spending 100k plus on a new car; if I can't get the money I'm looking for, I'd rather just hang on to it and continue to enjoy it. I purchased this car in 2008 with 26k miles and have spent the past 8 years making it my ultimate C5 street car. Countless hours and shop time have been spent tuning the motor and suspension to perfection. You can drive this car in traffic all day and it will never stall, even with the a/c on. Driving this car to work is an absolute joy. The vision of this car when purchased was to provide the perfect balance of power, handling, braking, appearance and luxury. Essentially what GM would have made if they decided to make a Corvette GT3. I think I've achieved that vision. That's also the reason I would never consider parting it out, which would likely net me more money. This car is like a member of the family to me and has always been treated as such, it's very important to me that it stays whole and finds a new owner to enjoy it as much as I have.
Power: 560rwhp / 549rwtq
Mileage: 83,000 (note, 0-mile GM LS7 crate motor was installed at 50k miles, TR6060 transmission, 3.73 diff and heads were done at 75k)
Price: No longer for sale.
To be 100% transparent as most of my exploits have been document on the forum and I have nothing to hide... car has been mostly street driven but has seen some limited track use. Track time has a been two trips to Englishtown on street tires (best pass of 10.8 & 134mph with a 1.7 60ft), one track day at NJ Motorsports Park to test the dry sump LS7 after it was installed (ran flawlessly, never got above 230 oil temp during 4 30min sessions), a couple of roll-racing events and recently the Slipstream 1/2 mile event where it went 159mph.
Mod List: Probably missing some stuff... fully documented service and parts history since I purchased the car will be included for the new owner.
Engine install and tuning performed by East Coast Supercharging. The majority of the other work was done by them or Corvette Center in Newington, CT.

One of my long-time forum favorites! I hope whoever buys this really appreciates what an amazing car it is. My vote is for you not to sell it though, brother...

Awsome put together ride, I personally would keep it.
You know whats going to happen , some will chime in and say , geez $49k for a C5 when you can get a C6Z blah blah blah, not knowing what it takes to build a vehicle of such quality,.

Say it ain't so!?!?
I would hate to see my personal favorite N/A C5 leave your stable Bill, but life is short and changes are needed time to time.
Bump for a great seller.

Thanks Doug and that's exactly it, just looking for a change after 8yrs. No matter what I buy, it won't be the evil 3100lb, 660bhp, 7000rpm screamer this car is. Good news is, chances are nobody will buy my car, so I'll probably have it forever! LOL

Just to add for anyone concerned about insuring this car for such a large amount of money. I have a professional appraisal of $70,000 documented for the car and was able to get a stated value policy from Grundy for that amount. That policy is also unlimited mileage and costs less per year than the insurance on my BRZ daily driver.
I don't see why any new owner wouldn't be able to do the same. It's nice piece of mind to know if it were to be stolen or god forbid totaled I wouldn't be insulted with a check for 20k.

Great thank you. I love all the mods you have done, and im looking for black/red z. It's just a little more than I was looking to spend. But the wheels in my head are turning and I'm seriously thinking about it

Not one of, but my actual favorite C5 other than my own! I am building an LS7 near identical to yours, I don't post as much as I used to as I've been busy with another project but this is one of those cars that the word perfect can actually be used to describe it...surgical parts selection and implementation. Huge respect!

For what you will realistically get for this car once it ultimately sells, I would just keep it. You will get pennies on the dollar for all the money you have in it.
I say keep it, but GLWS....

I have seen this car up close and personal. Beautiful.
I am in the market for a 2003 red or black C5Z (buying it for my son, born in 2003, to work on as a father/son project) and this caught my eye. Unfortunately, there is nothing to build or do on this car so it defeats my purpose of purchase. That said, if I was looking for a cost no object build, I'd been sending Bill some $$ and taking his car home.
Sorry to see it go.

Impressive build. Considerably of my price range but just in case you have a fire sale in July when I fly to the continental US to buy either a C5z or C6z to drive across the country before shipping it home overseas, I'm calling dibs.
